Honestly, I think they could have worked. What you have to remember is that Cho had just lost someone she cared about. That isn't easy. Cho was also abandoned by all her so called friends and the one that did stick around, betrayed her. I am the type of person who usually has one or 2 folks I can call my real friends. But when I lost my mother, I was very worried and upset at the idea of losing anyone else. It really messed with me, and I grew possessive of my loved ones, my friend especially, I grew jealous of the new friends she made and her new boyfriend, because I worried she'd leave like my mom did. (In the end, it ended up driving us apart). Was it rational? No. But I was the same age then as Cho was and I was grieving. I wanted to hold on to what I had left. It made sense to me that she was jealous of Hermione. Just last year, there were so many reports of Hermione messing with Viktor and Harry emotionally and not once did Harry or anyone else set her straight. These reports even got to the point where not only was Viktor jealous and questioned Harry's relationship with Hermione, but even Molly Weasley thought something was going in, and Hermione received threats the the mail from strangers, even a portion that burned her skin! Furthermore, even RON at some point, expressed enough concern that Harry had to reassure Ron that Hermione is like a sister to him and that's all. Much less Cho getting upset. I mean her boyfriend is trying to meet this same girl right in the middle of their date. Cho was just trying to suss out how much Harry cared, and if he'd be jealous just like she was. Because if he was jealous, then maybe she can believe he's just meeting Hermione as a friend, and there's really not anything between them. But when he showed her he didn't care about her being upset, when he LAUGHED at her? Yes in turn, she got even more upset and stormed off and of course, she was still jealous of Hermione, because she had no reassurance of otherwise. Viktor, Molly, Ron? All of them were reassured by Harry, that Hermione was just a friend. Cho? She never got that reassurance at all, from anyone. People are quick to call Cho out for being weepy, but Cho was literally mourning the death of someone she cared for. It's actually quite unnerving that people think it's okay to trash her for that. I mean Cho was easy to talk to and laugh with. Harry even noted talking to her was no different than talking to Ron and Hermione, which is a great testament to their chemistry, since he's known them for years. Cho shares Harry's love for Quidditch and the two of them were seekers. Cho was one of the few outside of Gryffindor house who didn't wear Potter's Stinks badge and supported him. Cho believed in his word about the truth on Voldemort. She lied for him to keep him out of trouble and she defied her parents and joined Harry's illegal organization, trusting in him and his abilities to help them. Based on everything I've read with her? I'll even go so far as to say that in the end, I do believe Cho actually liked Harry more than Harry liked Cho.

I'm always thrilled when someone takes the time to understand the characters JKR wrote, rather than just view them as stereotypes. I see the Cho/Harry relationship as being a classic case of lack of communication between the sexes. At least Harry was set straight by Hermione. I assume Cho eventually realised her insecurity about Hermione was unfounded or she wouldn't have wanted to join the DA.

Me too. I try to understand the characters by looking at things from their POV. Often times I feel readers get caught up in Harry's words and what he thinks, and they forget that Harry himself is a biased narrator. So I look outside of him or the inner circle to try and see the character for them and their experiences. Doing that has really helped me see characters for more than they've been made out to be by the fandom.

I've found making videos from each character's perspective fascinating. I had to get inside each person's head and see through their eyes, and I would always develop a deep empathy and love for them by doing so. How are you finding Fantastic Beasts? The Cursed Child?

Thanks Ms Potter : ) I love that date Harry and Cho had in Madam Puddifoot's - it would take a lot for the relationship to recover from that :D The implication in the movie is that Cho was verita serumed into revealing the DA, so I think she was actually less to blame than in the book where she vouched for Marietta and tried to excuse her betrayal. Lucky you, reading the books for the first time. I wish I could do that again (maybe if I got hypnotised I could forget I've read them several times...)

If i were JK Rowling, i would change the Ending that Cho and Harry are together. Some of you might be Pro-Ginny and Pro-Hermione but i prefer Cho than others. Cho and Harry are better. They have chemistry and i might not be a fan of the books but i love them in the movies especially in OOTP. Cho and Harry are more romantic than others, even that HP is over. I stick to Cho. That scene of malfoy dragging her framing her as the snitch really annoyed me. While she can be a bit irritating in the books she never snitched and only stood up for her friend. Also snape implied that she was forced into taking the truth potion so it isnt her fault. I'm not sure which country you live in, but I'm lucky enough to live in Australia where we have the Special Broadcasting Service, a government television network that began in 1978 and which currently has a whole channel devoted to movies from around the world. SBS introduced me to Miyazaki's anime, Bong Joon-ho's movies (long before he made 'Parasite'), and the weird wonder of Russian movies. I can't imagine now just living in a world of Spielberg and Disney, not that I haven't enjoyed some of their movies as well.

Cho was a fool. She barely dated Cedric. And only because Harry was tardy in asking her out. So Cedric dies, tragic yes but hardly the inner struggle Rowling had her go through.

Don't forget that Cho saw Cedric's dead body when she was expecting to see a live boyfriend, and then was told nothing about the circumstances of his death. That would understandably leave a lot of unresolved emotions. Also, we don't know how strongly she felt about Cedric - they were dating for up to 7 months so that's plenty of time to develop a deep, committed relationship. It seems harsh to describe her as a fool for being upset in those circumstances.
