The Choc Stars were prolific in the studio. They recorded four or more albums a year in the late eighties, numbers rivaled only by Zaïko Langa Langa and Empire Bakuba among the youth bands. 'Riana' one of the songs that led to the group's 1986 best band award, was a typical Choc Stars chronicle of the vicissitudes of youth. Riana, a Kinshasan beauty, leaves her lover after a brief affair, too brief for the bewildered man, who cries' I haven't had enough of you yet/ why are you leaving me like this?' with songs like 'Riana,' an upbeat but mellow delivery, and a rarely matched lineup of talent, the Choc Stars rose to become every bit the equal of the clan's head, Zaïko Langa Langa itself.
