Happy New Year to you all! Let's make it another great year. Well, this video was relatively easy to finish, because for some reason there were very few special appearances. (It's possible that the specials were stacked in the first half of the video..?) Cog Hammer is very impressive. I haven't tried it yet, but it might be interesting to use Opportunist. The video is not very good, so we have put together some Demo Play.

It's always weird to me how the Pickaxe and the Cog Hammer are basically the same weapon but The Cog Hammer is almost universally considered the better weapon, great video btw!

Cog hammer is a lot faster. Only perk the pick has is charged attack which is situational and not worth it.

Great! But i realized you face almost no stunners (Leech, Runner, Packmaster). Especially when you are facing hordes and cornered. How many tries did it take to get a game where you just don't get grabbed within a horde? When i try solo'ing, there are always at least 2-3 insta-killers in every horde.

This is simply because the game time is shorter and the number of specials spawning is relatively low. I recommend that you watch other videos before expanding your horizons to include more than just one perspective.

Thank you. I didn't know that the throwing axe wasn't popular, but it's certainly a weapon with its own quirks. The damage to your allies is a problem, but it works great with RV.

Bit late, but throwing axes are nice since the slayer is otherwise a melee only class. However in group play they'll be near useless with ever-present Kerillian mains and the other classes having good ranged options.

Have you tried Cog Hammer with Great Hammer? I love that build for slayer. I use the lvl10 talent that gives you bonus damage for have two two handed weapons equipped and the talent that gives you damage reduction for landing heavy attacks. Much fun. I also like throwing axes on ranger with last resort.

@@chocoB777 It's my favorite way to play slayer. You can clear hordes by yourself easily especially after you stagger with your ult and light spam the coghammer but I try to stay close to my team and zone with the greathammer. I still get a bunch of kills like that though because of the +45% damage, but at least GH zoning my team also gets temp health. Plus you have the coghammer heavy attack to decimate anything your greathammer can't knock around.

I'm currently running 2h hammer and coghammer, the 2h for CC and cog for specials. Although cog is quite good at both I wonder what the other weapon should be for people that don't own winds of magic. Maybe a pickaxe? Any suggestions?

The pickaxe is very effective against things like the Chaos Warrior, but for balance, I think the two-handed hammer is a better choice.

They wanted to make a good melee weapon for engineer to create distance. Instead they made a nutty melee weapon for slayer to trash both crowd and elite.

@@Pilloutar There are reasons you see more greathammer than greataxe, and coghammer is way easier to use than greathammer. Slayer can just go in and stagger the crap out of enemies.
