Yeah I have a feeling that he doesn't actually hate his sister he's just feed up with his life being to serve what ever his sister needs and not being aloud to have his own life he would if something were to happen to his mother hire someone who can take care of her and do so properly I think he's just saying this out of anger

they might be having an episode of anger and frustration. It's obviously years of buildup and has been impacting everything they did in life or wanted to do but couldn't. I'm pretty sure they don't hate the sister but it's just all the other things. Hope they find a middle ground 💙

S 1 nta The mom has neglected op for years in every way and is trying to destroy ops life to make op a caretaker. Its unfortunate for the sister, but ops mother has to accept the truth about her daughters condition.

ehh, even just the first sentence of the first one made me mad. i get having your sister around everywhere you go is a annoying. and having a mom who has beliefs that she will get better can be so too, but calling your mom the bad guy here. mate tf? she’s trying to take care of her as well as she can but of course that doesn’t mean she can just tell her other kid they can’t go to college. ultimately get rid of both kids futures really. but honestly in some ways both are in the wrong here. the mom says he needs to take care of his sister when the mom dies yet doesn’t allow him to go to college or get a life for himself. i fully get the guy here, since it’s annoying, but you don’t have to just completely leave your family. you’re pulling some aHole behaviour her

I feel like in this situation, they're NTA for wanting to leave the family because the mum isn't treating OP as a person, or even her own child, but as a babysitter for Jess, even to the point where they aren't allowed to go to University. However, I agree that OP could have approached the subject in a different way, especially since calling their disabled sister a 'cripple' is not only hurtful, but also unnecessary. The mother obviously has hope that her daughter will get better, but considering multiple doctors have already told her that it simply isn't possible then it's unfair to continue shelling out money from the oldests' college fund / savings. I'm not saying that it's an easy situation for anyone, and it is a very hard reality to face, but I also think most would react the way OP does, so they're NTA.

I get the guy not wanting to, but the dad just leaving wasn't good, and doesn't really help his case when he defends him. But yeah the mom was just being a pain in the butt. He should leave

Ok? The neglect from his mother cases resentment to his sister. He has every right to be mad. Even if it's not the sister fault, the OP has every right; plus, for example if your parents favored and babied your siblings and forced you to parent them you would hate them too. He has every right to hate both of them. It's not the sister's fault, again but he can still feel frustrated. I feel like this is very common disabled kids siblings. His anger is justified. I feel for the sister, dad, and the boy. It's a horrible story.

The first story is literally so sad i cant i know that life has been unfair to you but its been more unfair to your sister. Yes your mother might be wrong for suggesting you take her everywhere with you but i dont think she is wrong for making an effort for your sister as she is her child and wants to do what she can to make her better and i also think you are kinda the bad guy here just think if you were in your sister's shoes. You shouldn't think ill of her non of this is her fault she didnt ask to be this way in the end of the day she is your family and your dad is not a right guy to leave your mother just because of your sister just think about she was his child not only you mothers
