Chocolate Nautilus!

Aquatic themes are always so inspiring to me.
Tons of techniques and fun ideas went into this Chocolate Under the Sea creation!
This one is a tribute to one of my oldest chocolate showpieces.

He is absolutely fantastic at his art, the way he molds the chocolate with different tools, and gizmos and gadgets is stunning. I would be too afraid to eat it let alone break a piece off! Visually looks like a blown glass piece, but it’s made from chocolate!

So much talent. I mean…jaw dropping. There’s the difficulty of patisserie/chocolate, the innate and trained knowledge in food science, his eye for detail and construction…it’s more than art. He’s so observant with things in the natural world. Working with clay/ceramics, it’s hard enough making something like this, but using chocolate?!? Never mind how it’s a marvel from an engineering POV. So much ingenuity too. I can’t fathom how one person was blessed with all these amazing talents!

I think this is one of his most detailed pieces yet. Typically, sculptures use clay which isn’t susceptible to moderate temperature changes. When this guy works on his sculptures he has to be cognizant of how his own body temperature will impact the chocolate. I imagine his “studio” is kept at a rather low temperature.
