Choctaw Makes History With Stunning Comeback In 6A-2 Title Game

Choctaw's only 2 losses were to Oklahoma 6A-I State Champion Bixby 55-27, and to Kansas 6A Champion Gardner-Edgerton 66-44. I live in Kansas. Can someone explain the "6A-I vs 6A-II" classification in Oklahoma. Is it strictly based on enrollment, or are there other qualifiers?

6A-1 is the largest enrollment in Oklahoma.

It was split in 2014 because Jenks, Union and other Tulsa area teams were dominant and the smaller 6a schools had no realistic chance to win a championship. After the split, Bixby ended up winning all but one championship until they were promoted to 6A1 in 2022. There have been 3 different champions since then.

Man, i would have been absolutely amazing at football if i was faster and bigger and stronger and just generally more athletic. Maybe a little smarter too so i could have understood the game better. Damn, i was close to being awesome!!! 😢😢 😂😂😂
