That first game was good, but I’m very frustrated you didn’t use encore. I may just be bad at vgc, but I feel like encore would have been the better call when blastoise used fake out, as they would have been forced to switch. They were probably also banking on you faking out calyrex, which is why they switched. You could’ve also encored at the end of game one too but whatever I guess

I did not consider encoring Blastoise, because Caly could KO Groudon or Sableye there, or even set trick room if it stayed in. At the end encore was the play, I just knew it didn't matter

I’m also probably just bad at vgc, the only teams I’ve ever made for the format that have been reasonably successful were ones where I just took someone else’s idea and changed it slightly. (Well except one but that’s it)

Base Charizard is so good in doubles unlike in singles, people underestimate it a lot, its sucks that chi yu outclasses it unfortunately both Typhlosion and Charizard are good in pre restricted format even in this format i hit rank 10 with Typhlosion-H

Is that Taunt in game 2 turn 1 such an insane read? I would think it's a very safe play as they know you have a sun team and tornados usually packs a lot of status moves. So they'd know you want to get up sun without taking a water spout on your groudon? Idk I'm not a VGC player, just didn't understand why taunt is such a crazy read there.

Thunder reduces to 50% accuracy in sun, so gravity and sun would make it only 83.5%
