Thank you brutha for taking the time to teach some of us who had NO KNOWLEDGE of the hand gestures. Ive been waiting for years to at least know ether basics, but every video ive watched, they go to China and back & I'm sitting there STILL CONFUSED. Thank you. This was straight to the point. God Bless You

The change hand sign is a new one for me

You will find it a more efficient way to send a change message to your choir especially a large choir. You can direct your congregation easier also once they understand what it means. The change hand replaces the countdown signal. Its all about the timing.

For some reason I’ve always heard of this as band stop, just singers: 🤙🏼

Which one?

@@GospelChoirs instead of the arms crossed in an “X” sign to get the musicians to stop playing while singers continue, I grew up seeing a hand sign with the thumb and pinky out like the emoji: 🤙🏼. And that meant the same as the crossed arms. Just interesting to see a different sign for that lol.

What would be the hand sign for key changes/inverts?
@GospelChoirs3 жыл бұрын
Common signals of key changes are pointing up with one finger, usually the index finger or the one right next to your thumb.

Inversion signals on the other hand are usually signaled by “flicking” three fingers in a waving motion. That is what I have seen.
