Humans need to spend more time singing together, making music together, and dancing together.

At 74 years old this is one of my all time favorite songs! "I turned to look but it was gone, I can not put my finger on it now, the child is grown, the dream is gone..." That line just gives me chills. Looking back over 70+ years, when I was young and had dreams of the future, goals, desires, achievements to aspire to, only a few were actualized, the rest seem to fade away as the child grew and reality set in, those dreams were gone. If ya'll are fortunate enough to make it long as I have thus far, listen to this song again when you are 70.

in a thousand years this song will still be a classic and people will love it then as much as they do today, INCREDIBLE

After all that time, will they still understand about Roger trying to salvage some of Syd's creativity from the depths of his psychosis?

Pink Floyd is so perfect for a choir! They give the song an ever deeper feeling!
@jhandle41962 жыл бұрын
They've used choruses numerous times, Atom Heart Mother for instance. They sang no words; just syllables. They also edited into the song "Fearless" from the album "Meddle" the Liverpool soccer fans singing the Rogers and Hammerstein song, "You'll Never Walk Alone" from the musical "Carousel". that was made popular during the "British Invasion" by Gerry and the Pacemakers. Then of course there's the children's chorus on "The Wall." Yes, I think Roger, David, Richard, Nick and Alan (Parsons). and of course Syd were all way ahead of us on that, and a whole lot of other things.

Ok , it's mid February 2021, it's freezing cold where I am , I hurt my back this morning and the world is in the midst of an awful pandemic. None of it matters though cos I just found this video. Would have loved to have been in the room when this was recorded.

My dad was amazing at the guitar solo in this song and at his Celebration of Life some years ago, this was one of the songs played. It was the band he regularly played with playing all the songs that day... it was an experience to hear the rock he grew up with played in our church. And Pink Floyd just hits in a specific way....

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Comfortably Numb ranks up there, in my mind, as one of the best rock songs ever made. The original song was so lyrically moving, and had such jaw dropping instrumental work - arguably producing the greatest guitar solo of all time. As a huge Pink Floyd fan, your rendition of this song had me on cloud 9. Your ensemble's vocal work was haunting and it really captured the disconnection and mixture of despair and hope that the song communicated. Mainstream radio no longer has songs that are this rich in melody and which has such an enduring appeal. That is why I appreciate any effort to keep such classics alive through such creative reworkings, such as your cover. I am definitely adding your cover to my playlist. Please keep up the great work!

lgbtTV5 Sorry to hear about your father. I can empathize with what you went through. Six years ago, my father passed away from kidney failure. He had been on the decline in health many years prior to that, and during that decline he was hospitalized numerous times, and, at times, was in a state of mind where he seemed detached, forgetful, and apathetic. I suppose, like you, that is why this song partly has such resonance for me.

Yes, it's a great song. I learned to play it myself so it's a song that will always be with me, but . . . greatest song; greatest guitar solo??? Many consider David's solo on "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" to be his best, but whatever. It's David. He has a beautiful style that permeates all of his work. And what about Jimi? Let's just consider "All Along the Watchtower" for starters. And what about Jimmy? Let's just consider "Stairway to Heaven" for starters. Actually if you search "greatest guitar solo", often what comes up is Prince soloing to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" when he throws his guitar up in the air at the end, and it disappears. And you know what? I'll bet everyone one of them wished they could play like Larry Carlton, and Tommy Emmanuel. It's just not possible to say, "best ever." I'm still rockin' to "Chattanooga Choo Choo." There's a clip online from the film "Sun Valley Serenade" that will wire you up.

hello? Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me Is there anyone at home? Come on, now I hear you're feeling down Well I can ease your pain Get you on your feet again Relax I'll need some information first Just the basic facts Can you show me where it hurts? There is no pain you are receding A distant ship's smoke on the horizon You are the only coming through in waves Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying When I was a child I had a fever My hands felt just like two balloons Now I've got that feeling once again I can't explain you would not understand This is not how I am I have become comfortably numb I have become comfortably numb Okay Just a little pinprick There'll be no more But you may feel a little sick Can you stand up? I do believe it's working good That'll keep you going through the show Come on it's time to go There is no pain you are receding A distant ship's smoke on the horizon You are the only coming through in waves Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse Out of the corner of my eye I turned to look but it was gone I cannot put my finger on it now The child is grown the dream is gone I have become comfortably numb
