CHOJIN BIBYUN (Episode 1)

The Akumaizer 3 have disappeared from Earth, and the yokai have awoken from their long sleep. Kei Tsukimura is a sophomore gymnast at Taiyo University aspiring for the Olympics, who saves Professor Daima and Lisa Akechi from the the forces of Backbeard, the yokai who received the lifeforce of Demon King Gulver. He is cursed by the yokai, and goes to Professor Daima for help. Professor Daima performs the ritual of the Army Destroying Star, and brings the spirit of Xavitan of the Akumaizer 3 into Kei, making him the Chojin Bibyun. Swimmer Ichiro Suga receives the spirit of Evil to become Bashaan, and weightlifter Gou Watabe receives the spirit of Gabra to become Zusheen: the three Super Spirits are born! Receiving the flying fortress Benishark from the Akumaizer 3, the three heroes seek to defeat the yokai under the rule of Demon King Gulver!

Pretty bizarre first episode. Japanese Yōkai, the Occult, and a crazy professor in the study of Chōjin (Super-Gods), all in the one tokusatsu series. This is a sequel to the Tōei Tokusatsu series Akumaizer 3 (1975-1976), so please watch that first.

@@budgiecat9039 the quarry is just one of them, there's the river bank with the waterfall, the stadium where they usually use the stairs or the outdoor area with all the leaning metal beams, the abandoned warehouse, under that bridge. There's also the mock up city street where they usually put rubbles on to create a massive destruction kind of scene, and that one street with the old era Japanese building for the time travel episodes, the streets just outside the studio... If you watched enough Toei's Tokusatsu you know exactly what I'm talking about and you have the scenes in your head.

@Patrick P. I'm afraid that story (wherever it came from) is untrue. These characters were *not* created from pre-existing suits. The characters of Bibyuun, Zushin, and Basshan were all original designs by Shotaro Ishimori, specifically for this show. The Ishimori art books and publications on CHOJIN BIBYUUN bears this out.
