Very sweet girl. I like the way she speaks. She is so young and yet so self-confident. She speaks as if she has already received a military education. Everything is possible in North Korea ;-) Her musical skills speak for themselves.

@roy mason its an asian thing, not just north korea, most asian parents want their children playing an instrument, practice martial arts, and stuff

In a Third World country like my own,kids of this age are forced to work in paddy fields,they dont go to school,they are malnourished,..so, honing their 'talents'???..well that is beyond anybody's dream..or if you are well off,you sit inside some dreary classroom mugging up India's avg. annual rainfall.. In the West,it's even sorrier.. kids are forgotten in front of a TV set,they grow up watching WWE,or playing GTA in their playstations.. Hats off DPRK!!,this is what i call a true childhood:)

@vlnvlaclogbaerhpno ok maybe this is no totally right but what about our society? What about "little miss america"? Is that better?In NKorea children study for free and learn to play instruments for free, maybe this is their only destiny so they learn as better as they can. Some aspects of the Kim Jong-Il's government are crazy and horrible but here I see just a child who loves music and kayageum.

when you talk about 'forced talent'..what about the reality TV shows that earn millions by selling off little children's flesh n blood????y keep mum on that???,,try to think independently folks..dont ditto whatever you read every morning in Rupert Murdoch's export quality toilet papers..and plz try to appreciate music,dont bring politics into everything..i'm sure most ppl clicked this link seeing the word ''North Korea'' and not 'kayagum''..i'm a grade 8 violin student and i think this is BANG!!

HeLLOOOOOO???! Don't this kid's 'cheerfulness' and facial expressions when playing seem a little contrived to anyone? Crazy Kim Jong-Il's government probably forces these kids to work like slaves (which you have to do at such a young age to play this well, no matter what your level of natural talent) and threatens their families if the kids don't perform well. It's amazing what a human is capable of when fear is the motivator. Great playing, sure, but this is sick and wrong on many levels.
