I have a friend whose facial nerve was impacted by her cholesteoma and she looked like she had a stroke. It took surgery to relieve the pressure off the nerve and sometime after that for her face to go back to normal (which wasn’t guaranteed). Great work Richard!

Glad it worked out for her! Thanks Pamela 😘

@@thewaxwizard Hello! I'm a newly minted WaxWixard fanatic and a fellow musician and music podcaster on KZbin (feel free to check it out). I'm also someone who produces a lot of ear wax and noticed that I've never had a "hoovering" done by any ENT here in the USA. Never even seen it. I've only had water or picking. I wish I could take a trip across the pond to get a proper job done by The Wizard himself!!!!

Normally when i watch your videos i sit here saying go on get in there. This one i was actually cringing. When you got to the part where the wax was starting to separate and i could see the parts at the side starting to come with it i honestly thought a lot more was going to come out other than just the wax. Thankfully you spotted the issue where another failed and i really do hope a good result comes from this

That looks a really bad cholesteatoma, almost as bad as our adult son's bad inner ear which the cholesteatoma had eaten through the inner ear and started dissolving his wet skull and mastoid bone. Trouble with our son was he also had permanently brain damaged, hypersomnia, and sleep apnoea. He also has a distorted trapanic membrane from birth, which complicated these problems. After a 5 hour medical operation under general anesthetic he had success, but still has regular annual and 6 monthly checkups for life. We hope your patient recovers well.

😢 I know! I know some people here in the US say we should have government health care, but I don’t think it’s a good idea. Our system has problems here too, cost of care driving people to bankruptcy, longer wait for a specialist, especially since Covid, etc. but we do have our urgent care clinics at least. Difficult situations for both countries. The one place I know that has a fantastic government run healthcare system is Norway.
