If a non- terminal is corresponding to 2 non terminals like A-> ab then do we consider this as form of Chomsky normal form or we need to reduce it?

We have to reduce it as Chomsky normal form can only contain a single terminal

I don't know the answer to that so unfortunately I can't add much value here. But for the other two guys who commented, never question the 'need to know something'. You don't have to partake in something if you don't care about it but never try to kill someone's curiosity, that's the worst thing you could do. Just keeping your cackhole shut is a LOT more helpful.

One of the steps to convert a CFG to CNF is to add a new start variable S0 and the rule S0 → S. Why?

because if S produces aS the you can not define S because it will be stuck in a loop like : S -> aS S-> a(aS) S-> a(a(aS)) and so on, that's why we need to substitute another variable/ non-terminal in its place

It's from the formal definition of chomsky normal form: "A, B, and C are any variables-except that B and C may not be the start variable." I don't know why. but the definition says that.
