@@KYUPB Exactly lol. I don't know either. They're math rock. A genre. Not an exact copy of another band I've never heard of. Many of the bands sound fairly different. Anyways came here to say all those pinkie movements looks scary. I've tried learning these guys songs before and unless you're to an advanced stage of playing I don't recommend it. I consider myself a pretty good player but the stuff these guys do, the awkward chords, the arpeggios, the speed they do it.. nah man. This is next level.

marcoaranas Symphony X, Fates Warning, Circus Maximus, Gru, Gordian Knot are prog metal, their music is profoundly rooted in Metal while still being prog. Chon definitely has a lot of prog metal elements to their music, but I wouldn't say they are Metal nor Prog Metal. I would even say that their sound is closer to the likes of Fall Of Troy (albeit no vocals), which, if you know them, you know they aren't Metal in the slightest. My two cents on the matter.

@joelhaire52148 жыл бұрын
+Zach Niemeier Learn classical first then spring out to jazz and blues, learn all your scales chords and practice on palm muting and even muting with your left hand and then just practice it by tab or sound it out with your ears, because ears are a lot quicker than your eyes. SCALES will help you mostly but yeah, to generate speed and fingers and hand coordination cheers.

Begin is the key word, you just overloaded this dude with work lol. Take lessons from someone who can help you...and knows their shit. You'll have to seek them out cause they're not gonna come to you. Don't sit there and think you can learn these styles on your own from some free youtube lessons. Good teachers cost good money. If you want to know your shit, save money and save time to get good lessons and practice often. It will come together, it just takes some time
@davidkelly50898 жыл бұрын
teaspoon mario and erick both took lessons for years though. Sure you can definitely sound good just through familiarity with playing, but theres a quantifiable way of understanding melody and rhythm, and a way of understanding how to make those sounds on a guitar. Good teachers just speed up that process of understanding.
