I had a pet raccoon growing up. They are awesome, but can be quite destructive. I would catch crayfish for him and put them in water and let him “fish” for them. He also had a sweet tooth and was a bit chunky like Louie. He and my dog got along well. Miss them.

I love Louie. He reminds me of a raccoon l used to feed. One day she brought her six babies and l fed them too. Then other raccoons started coming and things got out of hand. I had to stop feeding them. Louie just reminds me so much of them. They are so smart and so loving. I wish Louie and his loving mom many happy years together.

Yes, things can get out of hand. I started feeding squirrels in my yard because I feed the birds. Now I have about a dozen that come everyday. Not as bad as feeding raccoons but am not sure if my neighbors appreciate it 😁.

I swear they're purposefully evolved to be the perfect human-moocher. They're fluffy, thick and look adorable while being smart enough to get into pretty much anywhere and learn behaviours of people to a scary good degree. Feed them once and you'll DEFINITELY feed them again and they WILL come back, in greater numbers. If they were less gnawy and messy, they'd be top tier pets

I love this! Raccoons are close to my heart after having a pet Raccoon as a child we named him Bandit. He went everywhere with me on my bike and riding my pony. He used to climb the maple tree next to the house get on the roof and come to my bedroom window so I would let him inside. My parents wouldn't allow him inside but what they didn't know didn't hurt. I loved him to the Moon he was so smart as all Raccoons are. 🦝❤🦝❤🦝❤🦝

@@mrbabyears unfortunately Bandit didn't have a happily ever after. 😢 A neighbor girl dropped her bike on Bandit & he chased after her because that bike hurt. My dad took Bandit to the creek 6 miles away and released him. My dad didn't consider Bandit had never been on his own and didn't even know how to find his own food. Bandit went to the 1st person that came along which was Johnny another kid from my town he wasn't a good person! Johnny brought Bandit back to town and realized who Bandit belonged to he put him in a cage then called me told me to come over and see what he had. My heart was broken I begged him to give Bandit back but he refused and kicked me out of his yard. That same night Bandit got out of the cage and found his way back home to me about 3 blocks away. I'm certain he recognized the park and that's how he found his way home. The next morning Bandit was on the roof outside my bedroom window excitedly chattering at me. I let him in and kept him hidden all day in my room. Johnny came over telling me to give him back I told him I haven't seen Bandit. When my dad came home after work Johnny came back and my dad forced me to give Bandit back! That was the last time I saw my friend Bandit the next day I heard through friends that Johnny killed my raccoon for his fur. 💔😭 I loved Bandit and he loved me. This happened around 1972 when I was 10 years old. I've never forgotten my raccoon or what Johnny did to him and how my dad made me give Bandit back. 🦝💔😭

I usually have 12-24 outdoor (pet 🤣) raccoons that I feed everyday. My furbabies love their dog food. I love being at the store and when I pick up their food, people ask, "What kind of dog do you have?" and I just laugh and tell them it's for my raccoons 😂. And I can actually hand-feed quite a few of them (generations have shown up in the 25 years I've been at my home). And yeah, I have some chonky boys too. I can so relate to this video. maybe the dog food has additives that are making the raccoons gain weight. Just a suggestion to add some natural foods like fruits and veggies and any of your own leftover food.

Thank you for saving him he's adorable. I love his attitude about exercising who needs. I love that he spies on your on neighbors he has his own neighborhood watch. And he said he's taking your credit card and your wallet and your keys cuz he wants to learn how to use a computer and buy him stuff online. And it really ticks me off on people say they're a nuisance animal are evil humans we're supposed to share the planet with with animals and be respectful to them. Thank you for helping

I've rehabilitated several raccoons and while they can be sweet, affectionate, curious and just plain hilarious they can also become aggressive as they get older. Even with the humans they have known their whole life's. Never underestimate the damage they can do.

Hilarious. I’ve got a mom and two young ones coming by nightly. I leave then some snack every few days. They come right up to my door now from the woods. Don’t want them dependent, so I space it out. They are very bold also and have zero fear. I have to scold mom sometimes when she gets too hyped up lol. She actually listens and calms down ha ha. Too cute.
