In all seriousness, this was a huge undertaking, at least by my standards. I've understood for a while that The Mind Electric was by far my most requested song, and I wanted it to be something special.
I also understand that this took 3 weeks longer to make than usual.
Frankly, that's a miracle, and it should have been longer.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy, O description reader of mine.

But as complacency settles, anxieties will rise and part this Soul as Jekyll parted Hyde. Now I’m but half of a hollow man’s lies: the love, the hate, the emotional side. What’s the point in trying if this end result of dying sits persistently encloaked in dimness. Life can’t thrive controlled by digits. “I know I’m weak. I know that I’m vile. But sometimes that is needed to survive.” That’s what I’ll say to rationalize. “I’m needed if we’re to stay alive.” And yet, here I lie with black, sunken eyes. My Mind’s consigned our sighs to a leaden void. The Soul remains tempered. I remain plied. Condemned ‘til we are both all but destroyed. But I know that one plus one can’t equal two if happiness is both our truths. Our total sum must equal one if we’re to find that golden hue. So spiraling down entropically. I beg of thee, have mercy on me. I am just a boy, you see. I plead of thee, have sympathy for me. See how it hurts when the sound begins to ring. And you feel it start to rot. And you beg for it to stop. But you’ve already dug your lot in the ground. See how The Mind tricks The Soul into being something sickly, dead and cold as you feel it start to tire and fester so, so slowly. Up until the point where it will finally die. Just in time to see what could have been. Do what you want, you automaton freak. No, I can no longer bring myself to care. This hollowed out vessel’s beginning to creak. So take control, let’s see how you fare. THE MIND ELECTRIC Look who it is, the saddened and weak. It seems those beams of light have caused some glare. Freakish and dismal. Hollow and bleak. I could go on, but let’s leave it there. Resident Heart is feeble and frail. A scourge to purge; due diligence is all. Silent, sad outbursts, inaudible wails dictate he never does as he’s told. Fathers of fathers, brothers of sons, deterred from being what they know they can. All because Heart refuses to run. This creature hardly resembles a man. My logic is the absolute. His pity parties simply harm these chances at an apt repute: esteemed regard in place of mockery. I’m sure it seems from his point of view that I’m a simple, cynical machine. But is it so hard to see the whole truth? I merely seek a Soul that’s pristine. I can’t claim that I enjoy this, covering for a tortured boy that’s slowly tired of all his toys. His wiles and woes ring like white noise. And I know that it’s hard to see my rhyme behind the entropy, but if he’d just once humor me, he’d see we need to live life logically. See how The Heart plays profound. (See how he lies.) But the depth is insincere. A pathetic, thin veneer. All the pain, regret and fear still resound. People have pointed out that the Mind seems more emotional and the Heart seems more logical. Maybe because Heart is actually just a logical organ of the body pumping blood but Mind creates this persona for it and blames is for all the emotional mishaps it has. The heart when you think about it is actually just some organ. It's your mind who associates love and extreme emotion with it.

Ooh I like that interpretation! Another thing about the human mind is that a part of it controls the emotions. However since Heart is usally veiwed to be the emotional one, Mind is more quick to anger, unlike Heart. One thing I seem to notice in THA is how it seems more logical and more olanned out, compared to TME, which is Mind complaining about Heart and in my opinion less thought out and focused on Mind's hatred to Heart. I do like your interpretation too!

I think the key to understanding this fully is realizing that the entity called the 'Soul' is the individual's self-image. It isn't the true essence of the individual, it's the part of the brain that thinks it's the true essence of the individual. The sense of self, not the self. Soul is clearly unstable, as his vocals keep cutting off and glitching. This is because the individual's self-image is unstable, as it's formed by warring logic and emotions. As a result, Soul hates Heart and Mind's inability to see each other's point of view, which is why he spends most of his section complaining about their constant conflict. Soul would benefit greatly if Heart and Mind cooperated, but neither Heart or Mind see Soul as significant in any way, and even during Soul's section they're still focusing on each other. Heart claims that Mind's influence is making Soul "sickly, dead and cold" and "tempered", while Mind argues that he wants Soul to be "pristine", but is thwarted by Heart; in other words, both Heart and Mind are aware that Soul's existence is shaped by them, and damaged by their conflict. Soul himself refuses to accept this. The lyric Soul puts the most effort into is "I am me", showing how important it is to him that he's an independent entity. But he doesn't know what that looks like, and doesn't even know what he should be called. The result of all of this is that Soul, the individual's self-image, is being driven insane by the individual's conflicting logic and emotion, until the individual starts to see themselves as above their own thoughts and emotions, and sees suicide as the only way to escape the conflict, not able to accept that they themselves are made up of the thoughts and emotions. My issue with most of the Soul analyses of this song, is that they seem to trust Soul's infallibility but not Heart's or Mind's. I guess because Soul speaks last, and neither Heart or Mind really criticize him, so he gets the last word. I don't think we're supposed to take everything Soul says at face value.

I can't remember which song it was, but the lyric was like "if Mr. Sun can't shine, nor can Mr. Moon.", with Heart singing the Mr. Sun part and Mind singing the Mr. Moon part, making it feel like they were telling each other that they can't "shine" without the other. Then going off that logic, it would mean Heart tried to shoot Mind yet missed and shot himself in Ruler of Everything. Edit: The song is Mucka Blucka. Also in that song when all three are singing, Soul and Mind say "when he shot at me (him for Soul's verse) and missed" while Heart's verse is "when i shot at him and missed" furthering the idea that Heart not only shot at Mind but that Mind is the Sun.

Let’s blur these lines}" cause as we know in some way the soul was formed by the heart and mind splitting/coexisting with different desires, one wanted to not feel and the other wanted not to think/worry/care in some way, kinda like nihilism. either way we have after the mind talking about chonny's actual codes he puts in video comments, once again showing that this is someone's story being revealed in the videos and the meaning is intentional so ha if you thought this was useless ur wrong! lol "[Languish in the numbers, falling under. Sitting in the sight of every eye, I believe in you. Open the window, look out and see me. That sad, sulking mess; this human you’re being." maybe its chonny maybe not, but what it seems to be its trying to help out or show that chonny/main person in the story is in a good state and will be helped by reuniting his sould, mind, and heart. "Tonight, I’m arriving alive and alight. Tonight, all the black, and the grey and the white. And I want to be like meek is the one light. Jesus Christ. I came here looking for a cover of The Mind Electric, expecting 6 minutes of reversed audio, 6 minutes of normal audio. @@KURTINTHEREAL ok so there's this guy, and he is split in four, there's Mind who puts logic above all else and is really mean to the others, there's Heart (the one with the blindfold) and he ignores logic in favour of feelings, there's Soul who's a mix of both and seems to have more control of the actual physical body than the others, and lastly there's whatever is left of the host. they really hate eachother and one time Mind threatened to KICK Heart out of the body (in the Storm and a spring cover) witch would have killed their body and the host, so yeah. and that's basicly it, i recomend watching all the songs (or listening to the full Chonny's Charming Chaos Compendium album) to form your own theories and conclusions 👍

on 8:26 when Soul says "Here in my kingdom I am your lord I order you to cower and pray", Mind and Heart finally stop trying to sing over each other and Soul and finally listen to what he is saying. At 8:33 you can see that Mind and Heart are covering their mouths for a split second, either they are listening to Soul for once or Soul is forcing them to listen since he is the one in control. At 11:21 , Soul is speaking to Heart and Mind about how he would rather end them all than spend his life listening to them argue all the time.

I'm loving the details in the little things. The Heart is blind, and its theme is slow and chiming. The Mind is only a mouth, and its theme is heavy and full, drums and synths moving with patterns. The Soul is the most active, with hands and lips that move and switch between each other. Its theme is bright and fast, pushing forwards with a tone of control and relaxation not found in the other two. Absolutely stunning work.

One note that I must make for any who may see: At 10:30 the lyric "See how they fight all day" is sung, and while it would be natural to assume that it is in reference the The Mind Electric's "See how..." lyrics it actually is a direct reference to the lyrics "See how I fly away" in Labyrinth at 1:00. This is evident as both parts not only contain correlated lyrics, but also the echo effect on the last word is present for both of these sections while it is not present in the mind electric or in the mind electric demo 4. This attention to detail impressed me quite a bit and I truly have to say hats off to Chonny Jash for keeping the Tally Hall spirit alive. I have always loved Tally Hall's cross references so I am quite pleased to see this niche reference show up here.

At this point, this is it’s own original song. I rarely get the feeling like my life has turned myself around but this song awoke something in me, especially heart’s ending part. that entire section was so intense and so amazing that I was completely speechless throughout the whole song. But before that, when I went through the comments, I knew that since there were so many paragraphs from different people that this had to be some sort of god-send. I originally heard this through a tiktok edit and put off listening to the full thing for a few days, but now I regret not listening to this before. This entire song is insane, and I bet this is what the people in the 1950’s call the music of the future. Godspeed chonny jash, may your future songs be godly as well as this one.

There's a million things I could say about this song and its lyrics, but since no one's brought it up yet, I thought this was interesting: at 2:28/2:29ish, you can see the previously black shadow that was mirroring Heart switch to Soul. You can see and hear him singing along with Heart when he says, "See how it hurts when the sound..." However, and here's the really interesting thing, he stops when Heart says, "See how The Mind tricks The Soul." He picks up again right after, and doesn't stop until Heart speaks directly to Mind with the "Do what you want, you automaton freak" line. There's a few different take-aways from this. One, Soul only does this during Heart's section; he doesn't show up, visually or in voice, during Mind's segment at all. That, along with the fact that Soul stops singing when Heart implies that Mind is tricking him, really goes to show that Soul isn't so in favor of Mind as Heart thinks he is. Heart's lines would lead you to believe that Mind has a lot more control than he actually has, but the aforementioned, along with the fact that Heart has to willingly relinquish his control to Mind ("So take control, let's see how you fare"), and that Mind's big complaint during his section is that Heart is actively preventing him from working the way he wants ("But if he'd just once humor me") all points to Mind actually being quite powerless. Two, we once again get that common theme of Heart and Mind undermining Soul's independence and personhood, as well as their own inflated sense of importance and self. Soul wasn't tricked into "being something sickly, dead and cold." He was already like that, as evident by STORM AND A SPRING ("What do you see from behind those dead, leaden eyes?/A Soul so deep, and dark, and eternally cold"), and neither Heart nor Mind have nearly enough (if any) control over Soul to make him such. In fact, it's their in-fighting that's making everything worse, something neither of them are willing to acknowledge (at this point, anyway). TL;DR: You can see and hear Soul sing along with Heart starting at 2:28, which is indicative of, among other things, Mind's lack of control and Soul's continually undermined independence and personhood.

i love how, what they are depicted as represents themselves. Heart wears a blindfold, to cover up his face so no one can see, representing his weak and sad personality. Mind focuses on his mouth, a place where he thinks all should listen to, representing his ego. and finally, soul is depicted as an almost faceless figure, most of the start of his song having shots of his body, representing the wild and psychotic personality he has. the only time we see a bit of his head is when he speaks, which means he also has a big egotistical standard.

from what I understand , The Heart is mad because it doesn't get to spread it's emotions to the person. It thinks it doesn't have enough control. It thinks of The Mind as a cold , uncaring _thing_ which never pays attention to the importance of emotions. The Heart knows feelings are needed if they are to survive. But it doesn't have hope anymore and lends control to The Mind. This means that The Mind isn't as powerful or in control as The Heart makes it out to be since The Heart needs to lend control for The Mind to begin reasoning. The Mind begins before The Heart even finishes its sentence already correcting it , changing The Heart's "how you fare" to "how you think" given that The Mind doesn't fare but thinks. It is mad as well because The Heart is always so emotional which leads to it never listening to The Mind. It argues that there needs to be logic and that we can't focus only on feelings. However it goes a bit overboard because it thinks so highly of itself stating that its logic is absolute and that The Heart's pity leads to everyone getting hurt. It says that it is aware The Heart thinks The Mind is only a machine and that its tasks are often harsh but almost begs The Heart to see things from its point of view. It says that it doesn't enjoy doing this either since The Heart always "gets tired of its toys". It is aware that it is hard to see the logic behind the way The Mind thinks but asks The Heart to give it a chance to show it that we need to live life more logically. The soul however is just tired of the bickering of the 2. It also states that it cannot be controlled by The Heart or The Mind , always being more powerful. The Soul understands that the 2 are both wrong and right. It says that those 2 are always fighting neither of them willing to see the other's point of view. The Soul just wants to get rid of those 2 but is aware that it can't

"Stubborn, pale akaryocyte" is such a cool line. I took it to mean mind is saying that heart is worthless in it's endeavors. An akaryocyte is a cell without a nucleus. In this case saying a lot of substance made to put towards/ to benefit nothing- no purposeful central cause. Whining and moping won't get you anywhere, but you can put pain towards the effort for self betterment

This song hits so hard. musically and thematically- I sometimes think of myself like multiple pieces, it's not like DID, where it is akin to multiple people in one body, it's just that my body, thoughts, and self don't always work together, especially with dysphoria affecting the bond between my body+self, anxiety and intrusive thoughts stopping my mind from feeling like my own, and ADHD keeping me from getting the motivation to do anything I want. Some days I feel bad about it, but more commonly I get angry, and I would definately sing a song about killing my heart and mind. Also, there are so many nice little details, like heart trying to dig a pit to trap mind, but falling inside instead since the mind isn't a real tangible object

Okay wait this is actually so cool The story this song tells adds on to the original song so well A man is accused of a crime (likely falsely), and pleads insanity despite being sane. he is condemned to the infirmary where he is subjected to electroshock therapy, and actually goes insane. His consciousness is split into three. The heart, mind, and soul. The soul is the most powerful consciousness, but seems to be an empty vessel. As the days go by the heart and mind begin fighting for control over the soul. One night the soul wakes up (likely being the mans original complete consciousness), and regains control. He decides to hang himself in his cell rather than endure the electroshock therapy, and the constant fighting within his head.

Really cool how all 3 songs takes apart the original Mind Electric Heart's song is the human vocals. Has clear and flowing lyrics/ instrumentals. You can see and hear the transitions between choruses, no the hard cuts or sudden emptiness. Mind's song is all heavily synthesized vocals. Almost all the lyrics cut from one to the other, along with the beeping and looping electronic music. Topics and instruments jumping from one to the other with no warning. Soul's song is the middle of the two. Very auto tuned voice but you can still hear the changes in tone. The lyrics loop on themselves or ends just before the last word. It really gets across that feeling of frustration like having to deal with one person who expects you to know what they're talking about or someone who keeps repeating what they said cause they think you're dumb. Then all three voices work together in tandem we get the original song for one cathartic moment. Ending with the last chorus being very tame compared to the rest of the song. There is no violent back and forth to try and be both Heart and Mind. Just Soul's final declaration that he'd kill them all. Chills man, good job!

Ok, each of the players has a signature, for lack of a better word, that plays between what I guess I'll call the chorus and the bridge. Heart has several heartlike instruments, including a literal heartbeat. This was the obvious one, and the one that really got me to pay attention to the others. Mind has a deep electric metronome, which if memory serves is playing at 60 bpm. A very measured pace. There's also the other assorted beeps, but I haven't found any obvious pattern to them. Maybe after another 30 listens, eh? Soul has the reversed instrumentals from the original song, including a slow, rising pattern of strings. But we're hearing it in reverse. The strings are actually falling, a motif that appears in all three sets of lyrics (spiraling down entropically, and he falls inside a hole he dug for me, the tumbling down bit). Interestingly, this is the only one for which the pitch changes, as Heart's beating and Mind's metronome both keep the same pitch throughout.
