Thanks for addressing the braking wobble issue. My third ride on the V 13 resulted in an uncontrollable speed wobble which ended in a yard sale on the pavement which kind of made me wary of riding this wheel until I figured out what happened. I have about 3000 miles on my V12 ht and it actually happened last week on that wheel and I figured out that if you are going down a steep incline on pavement the contact surface of the road moves way back on the wheel so any uneven braking inputs actually push the wheel sideways instead of downward at least relative to the angle of the pavement axis of the machine.

I worked for UPS for one winter and their training was spot on to your advice regarding anticipating traffic patterns in front of you to avoid stopping and traffic flow. Great advice! I especially appreciated your comment to always over analyze other drivers. I think this is the number one key to safe urban riding. As a truck driver I was trained to always assume that everyone else on the road is a complete moron, and to believe that they all want to do the stupidest thing imaginable at any moment. Sadly, more often than not, that ends up being exactly what they do. Learning to make an escape plan in real-time for every stupid thing you can imagine cars around you doing will go a long ways towards keeping you safe. Keeping your distance from other vehicles is also key. The idiots can't kill you if they aren't near you.

Totally agree w/ the carving before break thing! My Onewheel sometimes gets wobbling as the road condition got bad and I figured by carving actively would eliminate the wobbling

One of the easiest ways to remove nearly all wobbles is reducing the PSI to 10-15. It will risk damaging the innertube and rims but at least you won't have to worry about wobbles

yes it is, same on my motorcycle. I have learned when I see brake lights or a car on on the side of the road just slow up and give them room. Hard to do it sometimes though. Drivers are absolutely horrible these days. It blows my mind every time I leave the house. Stay safe dude, cheers!

Great description of carving to tame wobbles, great advice on courtesy and reading the situation (traffic parkour), and I definitely vouch for not moving your pads. Put in 1,000 klicks on my SS, then accidently moved the pads too far forward. Now I'm back to square-one trying to reconnect to the wheel. Nothing feels familiar so I just have to keep adjusting and putting in the miles until it starts to feel tight again. I won't do anything at speed until I know for sure I'm back on my game.

Carving... You'd mentioned in a previous video about that sensation and compared it to snowboarding and it was that suggestion that made it click for me. When I realized you were a lightweight rider I realized that I can be pretty aggressive on my EXN and honestly need to be to make it work under me like I needed. You've been the best teacher I found online to learn how to ride this thing. There is barely any kind of PEV community here where I live and no one that rides an EUC. I feel self taught, but you have a lot to do with my riding style and confidence... Thank you for your videos and suggestions. I'm a great rider bcz of it

Yup, giving yourself time to get used to a new wheel is important. I hated my Master when I got it. My other wheels are non-suspension. But once I got it out on dirt roads and Jeep trails, I could never go back to non-suspension wheels. My knees hurt for a week after a rough dirt ride on the Sherman, but even much longer, harder rides don't hurt on the suspended wheel.

Great advice bro! I got a V12HT and only been on a EUC for like 3 weeks. I've learned real quick that you need to have your head on a swivel, keen anticipation, be ready to make split decisions and ride with confidence. Great vid/advice. Its funny.....I tell the many people that talk to me and ask if it's hard to ride. Its like skiing and ridding a bike at the same time. I own a Master. It's only a little over 80lbs with my current set up and my idea of high speed on it is 35-38 mph. I have yet to break 40mph haha. Your breaking advice is spot on. It's about the only time I really get wobbles. I get them from time to time when I'm tired and have been ridding all day....that's true of us all tho haha I ride in Boston from time to time. Normally I am on a group ride so traffic is less of worry. At home (I work second shift) I mostly ride at night. At 2am the roads are DEAD around here so I can have a little fun. I try and hit the trails but the good ones are .5 - 2+ hour drive away. You hit the trails a lot......any advice for dirt track racing? I'm going to have my first taste of it in a couple of weeks. It's a clinic kind of event....practice/training....qualifying....race. Ill be happy if I can qualify HAHAHAHA

I know you talked about breaking and acceleration percentages… What is your pedal softness/hardness at? how does it affect your acceleration and braking?

He was using 100% on both. On the V13 the braking at 100% will tilt you back 15 degrees and helps a lot with the weight of the Wheel but takes some getting use to. Wish all the heavier wheels had that. Be great on the ss but only minimum tilt back is built in.

Guy in Queensland, Australia on an escoot (EUC governed by same laws) is on a footpath cause he is not allowed on the road as it does not meet the criteria for the type of road he is allowed on. Going past a school. Group of maybe a dozen kids blocking the path. He does a quick on the road and back on the path. Cop got him. Pedestrians have right of way. Road did not have a bike lane and had dividing lanes so he not allowed on it. Got a fine. He Should have dismounted and walked past them. Such are the rules in that state. So peeps, while Choch can do it, Know your own state and city laws.

Carving while stopping is my best solution to reduce braking wobbles. They are bad on the EXN.

Ive also moved feet back an inch. Feet to forward makes wheel swish like a fishes tail behind you. Yes ski stop is best description of carve stop. Downhill longboard riders also carve, they make it look easy but its not. Euc is easyer.

Difficult to carve while braking its better to fade left or right if you have the room when braking hard.

When feet in right place i return to usual ski stop. Im practicing last second front handle bar grap and pull stop.

My first real unicycle!(first one was a cheap plastic one as a kid kzbin.infoUgkx4e2fa6x27dF7shCelntq0ZIKt4N0jELI I never learned to ride)So, this is a true learner, and for a C note, exactly what was needed. After a few weeks, I'm able to easily ride up and down the street. The Good: Solid frame. Has absorbed numerous spills through learning and still solid. Look - great looks, after 6 weeks of bashing Weight - it's really all tire, but as I fall I can easily grab the seat so it doesn't slam the ground. Size - Very adjustable. I'm 6', 33" inseam. I put it mostly up, but could go a bit higher if I needed to. The Bad: Not sure if it's out of the norm, but seat got scraped up quickly. Pedals - they are a bit uncomfortable and I can't get the right feel on my feet. But, they are solid and haven't been damaged at all as I've seen in reviews on other cycle's.- To address one comment about the seat connection not straight. Huh? Seat is on a round pole, you just turn it and it's straight. Either of the bad I expected to replace once I improved. I'd recommend to anyone else in the learning phase.

@@mikelo9006 Hey Mike, I've been able to ride the Sherman S for over 61 miles at 28+ average speed. Still had over 25% battery left at end of ride. Notably, I weigh 133 pounds.

I own both so range is the question. If you ride conservatively I can get 90 miles out of the ss and 70 miles on the V13. If I ride all out at faster average speed of 35 to 40 both wheels get 45 mile range. 100 volt with less power on the ss and 126 volt and more power on V13 is about even. So riding style has a lot to do with it. It's hard to compare wheels side by side because the specs are so different.

Got an agressive braking wobble on my v12. Impossible to manage, threw me off at 40 kph. Dont really understand what happend. I think gusty wind?? I will try the carve braking (when i have fully recovered)😢

1- lower the PSI (28 is good) 2- dont brake with your legs straight, you have to squat ( like sitting down) 3- dont squeeze the wheel with your legs Hope this helps

I own both and like the stability of the V13. I get feet and knee pain on long rides on the ss. The extra range does no good if you can't use it unless you ride multiple days between charges. Also to be fair I have the street tire on the ss which makes it very responsive but gives up some stability. Both wheels are great. Can't go wrong with either one.
