I don't think anyone would think to do this challenge concept just because almost no one pays attention to the lower base stats on a mon, thereby complicating this challenge exponentially. This is a great test to one's true knowledge on any and all Pokémon, which I think is the main purpose in team building for these battles

For example Stakataka only has 13 speed, but it's not like it's a bad mon, they've gotten good use out of it. Plus, a Pokemon like gible is going to have pretty low stats, but missing out on a Garchomp is not something they'll be happy about

Heres an idea for you. You and your opponent each take turns rolling a D6 (6-sided die) and you select the starter from the number rolled. So for example, your pokemon are 1, 2, and 3 and your opponents are 4, 5, and 6. So if you roll a 5 you select the pokemon in the 5th spot, which would be your opponents 2nd pokemon. And to make it interesting, you roll before you see the starters. You each do this 6 times

I feel like knowing the number of the lowest base stat would’ve made things more interesting, as just knowing what the base stat is doesn’t really say much. Give a number though, and you might be able to infer what the Pokémon is to some extent. Of course this also means that if Arceus comes into play, someone’s gonna be happy and someone’s gonna be pissed.
