I don't know for the other languages but at least for the French video it was actually their name in the french version of the game. Either they couldn't find the Italian names or maybe they call it the same as english idk

Almost every single Pokemon has the same name as their Italian names (or at least pronounced the same). The only Pokemon that have different Italian names are Type: Null and all the Paradox Pokemon (according to Bulbapedia), so that might not have been the best language to try.

Yeah spanish and italian use the same names as english, the paradox mons since they are descriptions rather than "names" thats why they get translated.

I speak Finnish, English, Swedish, German. Only fluent in first 2. The fact that Americans call themselves ”Italian” if they have some relatives from there from grandparents or further is wild to a lot of Europeans. I mean - for some it’s fair enough as the lineage isn’t too far from them and they still have Italian traditions and family in Italy and such. But for some who don’t really have any more connection to Italy, it is a bit weird. Either way, good video!

Thing is: When Gen 1 was internationalized the Italien Team Expected to Translate pokemon from german to Italien and hired german translators. But they were given the englisch Version of Red and blue and couldnt come up With cool Nameserver for the pokemon so the just kept the english names. and they didnt change that for later gens out of embarassment
