Very informative video. But VRAM isn't the same as RAM. Overall, a great video!

Thanks for the really helpful targeted video! Do you have any thoughts or suggestions about external hardrives if you are using a laptop? Would you suggest off loading AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, Photoshop etc... to an external hardrive to maximize the efficiancy of the laptop? Or have you seen that off loading these apps has actually caused more lagging and proved to be less helpful? I appreciate any feedback you have! Thanks for all the wonderful content!

Thanks! I love external hardrives, but unfortunately there's a limit to how much you can use them. To store files they're the best option (easy to move information between machines and, if you computer gets fried, the hardrive is usually safe), but to install software you need to take a few things into consideration. First, it should be SSD, as this type will allow you to run software without lag. Secondly, some software will not allow you to install them anywhere but on the C drive, and for others (I'm looking at you, Autodesk), they install a bunch of different components in various folders accross your computer, so even if they let you install on an external hardrive, it will only be part of the information. Hope this helps!

Hi Irene, great video! I'm glad I found you. I've taken what you said and applied it to a desktop. I use autocad, so 2D & 3D and I'm interested in Tekla. Would this computer be able to handle this? I'm looking for something I can use for years and upgrade as needed. Hope you don't mind giving out a little advice :) I found this on newegg - MSI Gaming Desktop Codex R2 B14NUD7-096US Intel Core i7 14th Gen 14700F (2.10GHz) 32GB DDR5 2 TB PCIe SSD GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Windows 11 Home 64-bit

Hi @arterrakiddies. That looks like a great machine! Keep in mind the best part of a desktop is how easy they are to upgrade so, if a few years down the road there's something you want to change, it will be very easy to do so.
