I just watched your video. Your a true inspiration on journaling. Almost 30 years shows great experiences. I switched from Daytimer to Franklin planner when Daytimer went down hill. I love the many diverse ways to use a planner.

Thanks John for watching. I have a strong need to journal 📔. Every planner I try doesn’t seem to handle my journaling. I’ve now accepted my need to have a separate book for unlimited writing.

Thank you so much @ADLynnSpeaks for this video. Just what I needed to see when I needed to see it! I was sent to a Franklin Planner all day seminar by a company with which I worked in the late 70's - early 80's. I thought my head was going to explode by the end of the day but I did purchase the entire Franklin Planner system - Classic size. I struggled using it the way it was taught because I'm more of a right-brain person, I was young, and this was my first "real job" out of college. I eventually used the planner just to record appointments. I did like the address/phone section and use it to this day!! I still have the original cover I purchased with the system and it looks brand new! I came across the Bullet Journal during lock down and loved the concept (I'm a minimalist so I pretty much stuck to Ryder Carroll's original) but it didn't exactly "fit" either. I now have at least five notebooks in all the name brands which are still sitting on the shelf while I try to figure out what book I want to use for what purpose. I buy more stuff but not using it. I realized recently that I reach for my vintage Franklin Planner almost every day to find a phone number (yeah, I'm an anachronistic throwback - not thrilled with smart phones), business card, etc. and thought..."Hmmmm, could this be used as my planner with various sub-headers?" The rings allowed for versatility. I truly only want to use one planner book as well so I bit the bullet tonight and ordered a refill of the basics plus some items I will use as I would a bullet journal such as wide-lined blank pages. Time will tell but my 40ish year old planner may just be today's solution!

I still use my Franklin as my base, although I use the passion planner weekly for overview planning. All my sections and roles are still in the ring binders.

Thank you for this video. You covered so many topics that many of us struggle with as we look for a system to organize our lives.

Your system is exactly like my system. I use the moleskine journals for family medical information, my personal medical information, and my instrumental music information. I use my franklin covey planner for organizing everything. I use the monthly calendar, weekly pages and day on 2 pages. My franklin covey planner is my brain. Thank you for confirming that what I am doing is acceptable. Loved your video. I use the Blooms pages which I love. I have been using the franklin covey planner since 1990 when my principal purchased franklin covey planners and pages for every teacher in our school and paid for every teacher to attend a franklin covey workshop. Thank You!

Fantastic! I can't seem to force myself away from this system as a whole. I know this is my planner "peace". I just like to journal, and moleskin serves that purpose.

Franklin Covey is my tried and true as well! I've tried the bullet journal and the Happy Planner, but I'm back to my FC. I don't see myself leaving this system again anytime soon. I love the day on two pages in blooms compact.

Blooms is the one for me as well. I reviewed the happiness planner and wish I had never spent my money. No shade, but I was desperate to see what was out there.
@valeriebrown37094 жыл бұрын
ADLynnSpeaks I agree. I wish I hadn’t spent my money on the happy planner hype. Maybe I’ll still use the pages for another purpose. I don’t mind the stickers though, but not for $20 a book. If I find them on clearance, then yes.

Valerie Brown Oh my goodness Valerie. How can Michaels justify the price of those stickers. I cringe 😬 while standing there drooling over them. .

So we are a lot alike!😂 I use a Filofax (I’ve used and have a FC as well). I have the bullet journal but it has become more a gratitude/regular journal. I have used the Erin Condren lately, but I think I’ll go back to the Filofax. I love having one place for things. And with the Franklin Covey or Filofax, I don’t have to remove all of the information I need since it’s in a binder-I just buy a new calendar for the current year.
@ADLynnspeaks4 жыл бұрын
I understand. I have seen Filofax and think they are very pretty. I’m a Franklin planner diehard, so it would take a lot to make me change. However, that EC monthly would make a great content planner. The bullet journal is going back to a personal bible or self journal. It was never called a “bullet” journal though. I have those from as far back as 1996. Who knew.

Hi, I am so glad I watched your video! I've been a long time FC planner user (since 1987!) and was recently considering the Bullet Journal. Like you, I found the setting up process long and hard to keep up. I decided to use my FC planner and add in the creative aspects of the Bullet Journal by using stickers, colored pencils and even some drawings. The structure and layouts of the FC planner are already there so I can spend whatever time I want to add on what I want to. I currently use the Day in 2 pages format but would love to switch to the week at a glance but am worried about losing space for daily notes...In reviewing my prior year's daily, I see that I do use the "notes" section quite a bit so I may have to stick to the same format. I was wondering how 2021 is going for you? Are you still using the FC planner? Are you planning to do any more videos on it? Thanks

I use a classic binder to hold virtually everything I need to know about my properties and vehicles as I travel between two locations. Unfortunately the info I need to carry fills up the binder so that I’ve no room for any kind of calendar page. Enter the Moleskine, which I use as a “self-drawn” planner with months and weeks customized to track my specific needs. I can’t stand all the drawing in of calendar grids, but there is no preprinted planner that can do what I want. But that doesn’t stop me trying to find one! To the detriment of my pocketbook. There is my problem in a nutshell. In 2 years I’ll be based in one location only so I won’t need all the extra info in my binder & can actually start using it as a planner again.

Loved your video. I like taking pieces of other systems and creating my own. I do that with everything I use. So I use a little FC, bujo and GTD, but I use a Stalogy & a Hobo Weeks together. I’m currently tweaking and adding tools that helps me overall. Thanks for sharing! ❤️❤️❤️ Joy2plan
@ADLynnspeaks4 жыл бұрын
Love that! I have been considering the Stalogy as a journal, so I can get all the year into the book and add all my pictures and other "stuff". I love a well written, filled journal.

ADLynnSpeaks I like your red FC binder because it has a relatively small footprint and hugs the pages nicely. Do you happen to know the model name? None of the current FC binder models are like that - they’re much bigger and usually stiffer.
@ADLynnspeaks4 жыл бұрын
@@calisongbird sorry. Just seeing this message. I can’t remember. It is very old. I’m going to order new rings just to get a little for inserts.
