The biggest reason why PD2 also has such a big variety in class picks is because the much more improved endgame, a map system similar to PoEs isn't about teleporting to that one boss over and over again. It's about killing the enemies you find in the zone, you know... you know, the thing you are supposed to do mainly to get loot, killing monsters.

@@Ulve124 The funny thing about Mosaic is MrLlama was on of the guys that pushed the idea to get 50% instead of 25% among many others when they first showed it into PTR and now wants it to be nerfed. At the end of the day 50% with 2x Mosaics wouldnt have made MA anymore viable cause the whole idea with these charges needs a better rework but yea it smelled of OP from miles away.

well, many people simply refuse to play unofficial versions of any games. A big reason why are streamers, they suck up to blizzard and they don't want to risk getting their twitch accounts banned, so they play D2R over mods, and people follow what streamers do. It's crazy the amount of influence streamers have over players; It's the only reason why hardcore wow popped off as much as it did.

My biggest complaint about of pd2 is how confusing is to keep it running smoothly. Last season I didn’t drop some items, now my non ladder characters were bricked. All of my non ladder character’s I create online won’t load. Meaning I’m stuck in offline if I want to play. One stash tab that isn’t shared.

Currently playing my first playthrough of D2R, but random googling some stuff thaught me about PD2. I would like to finish a single playthrough of D2R first though, if only to see the new cinematics and get a feel of getting my money's worth (yeah sunk cost fallacy). But one playthrough does take a while, about 35 hours according to Google. If I restart in PD2, will it take me another 35 hours to finish a first playthrough with a new char, or does PD2 play faster?

there is a reason ive been playin pd2 since s1 and threat it like my main game crafting content maps the balance that classes have its not the classic 50000000 sorcs that u see in d2r when u join a pub playthrough game i mean ofc people will have their favourites theres simply nothing that can avoid that but its def not that impactul like in d2r my fav part about pd2 is still slamming to this day it can make a shit item more usable during a playthrough or for mapping it creates excitment and a goal to play towards to maybe buy the next item to slam until u hit that corruption u are after also it gives more common items later on a bigger meaning for example shako early on is obv more expensive but falls off in price pretty heavily a wss + a lucky corruption can change that again to make it worth a few hrs or atleast boost the price a little bit i highly recommend any d2r player to check out pd2 and give it a proper shot

I'll try it, but I can already tell that I don't like it. The major problem is Synergies. What's the point of using Psychic Hammer when the synergies are Mind Blast and Cloak of Shadow. You'll end up spending 60 points for 1 skill and end up using Mind Blast because, why not! There are some good changes, yes. But there are some pretty bad ones too. I'd rather have charms out of the game then having a charm bag. We don't have this problem in classic, no charms, no runes. Stash is smaller, yet we can fill more items in there :D

I disagree that theres only 3 viable builds in D2R. I play HC in D2R and theres several other builds that clap. BO Barb with concentrate is decent albeit slower at clearing but its alot more tanky and can survive in HC very well. Lightning and Nova sorc are both very good, lightning javazon is ofc solid.

I heard about PD2 for the first time only a few weeks ago. I'm sure there are many like me who didn't even realize it. PD2 is the best thing I've ever seen. But how did I get it? I bought D2R because I was banned by Blizzard for 2 weeks because I accidentally had my VPN on when I wanted to enter the Bnet... well first bought D2R because I wanted to gamble, then googled where the differences are. And then Bam PD2 discovered. PD2 is simply mega, because love is in it and people are behind it who know what it comes to because they are D2 lovers themselves. It is the best D2 there is, by far, absolutely successful new content, the people who made it know what matters in D2. No wonder there is no going back. I'm grateful to have learned about it and sad that I'm only in season 8.

You're kind of being disingenuous by saying only the main 3 classes are viable. Especially your point on only using the blizz sorc. Like seriously? light sorc is legit the most versatile key farmer in the game and fire sorc scales well with the new sunder charms into TZ content as well as having good target farm areas with inherent teleport. Pally/Sorc/Sin are obviously viable. Sin was viable even before mosaic as a trapper - clears cows well and is great for target farming D keys safely with mind blast when 1 CE kills any other character at early gear points. Also a viable key farmer as well. I rolled a trapsin in S3 when people were doing their mosaic bullshit and never once felt like I was missing out. Barb is one of the better ladder start characters, with access to BO for group play and the best target farming trav returns & honestly one of the easiest characters to clear trav with. Furthermore IGG on JSP is one of the few things that retains value through bots. Definitely a viable ladder start character in group play - once it can clear NM trav with leap+merc you're good to go. Javazon is the best character to target farm cows + the a5 frigid loop. Early bases and monarchs especially go for tons of currency early and is one of the highest damaging characters to have available to you on a regular playthrough. Necro/dudu are admittedly weaker, but are both very good for the early group play run with lower resist / oak life. It won't accrue currency nearly as fast as the other characters, but if you aren't playing for FG I don't see what that's such a big problem? Summoner can absolutely slay pits with the new hustle/cure runewords and basically thing else, and can do it pretty fast with only a telestaff. Once they do get enigma they're farming with the best of them. So I'd say that 5 classes are "competitively viable" to beat the bots in the FG race and 2 classes are viable enough to play casually without much interest in gearing up for dueling. At best you could argue that not having access to teleport gives sorc an unfair advantage, but tbh everyone levels up in groups on ladder start anyways; the best ladder start composition will include multiple classes (pally auras, sorcs teleing to skip content, Lower resist & CE on necro for great early game dmg, BO buffs for barb, dudu oak sage, amazon for that juicy lightning damage, ok sins are kind of middling but they're good enough with traps/mindblast/CE) You can praise PD2 without inventing faults for the base game - there are enough faults to criticize there already. You just come off as bitter :/

I won't defend blizzard - i don't think they've done the best job with the game (especially considering how good it was at base) but I think TZs are an objective upgrade lmao. Same with the new ilevel 85 areas. Not to mention all the misc. QOLs shit they added with gold and shop ui. The mosaic is a bit of a woopsie but it doesnt affect pvp so like... whatever? It's not even THAT insane as far as good pvm/ladder start builds go. The worst change they made was probably to the necro bone skill dmg, but even then meh. I think the game in its current state is more or less equivalent to how good it was in LOD. I respect your opinion though, I just think you're being overly unfair because a few changes have tinted your whole perspective on it. Honestly if anything I like the mosaic because it added trade value to the gul rune. I think the build could have been tuned better subtly through the MA skill tree so that there was actual braincells required to itemize the character, but atleast my gul HF is worth more than just 1/2 a vex.

teleport charges suck, as do cooldowns... stop slowing the player down in an arpg, diablo 4 did that (massive nerf patch) and look who's playing it now (literally nobody)

One benefit of slowing it down is you need to learn how to play instead of just teleport fixing your situation. People in my opinion actually get dummer the more they get a rush, bump, tele me to Baal or next boss. I agree it shouldn’t take 10 minutes but it shouldn’t have someone barely 30 seconds either to cross terrain.

@@FrankieFresh yea that’s a bit of a trick, considering differences in the view/screen/fps/menus etc. Like it’s really not that difficult to fix the entire diablo game. I’ve strongly suggested there needs to be an open source arpg built off the proper tenets of diablo and dnd. Diablo actually did a disservice by venturing too far away from dnd even though I’ve seen some intelligence in how they combined numerous skills in one.

Im only playing D2R because the graphics are, for me, much better and that does it for me. But PD2 is cool and I'm happy it exist.

Let's talk about performance, "resurrected" runs choppy just as the original though it looks pretty, PD2 runs at a constant smooth 60 FPS in 1080p.

What annoyed me is when blizz was asking for feed back on changes he said in one of his videos "I don't want it to be pd2. Let pd2 be pd2" and now he wants changes.... d2r might look good but without charm inventory and stackable runes/gems etc it's just too much tetris and tedious work. Not to mention it would be the same old items if no runeword/unique rebalancing. And no maps to do when LoD is too easy/boring? Come on. PD2 all the way.

Sometimes when I watch a random D2 video it takes me two minutes to notice that it's PD2 and not D2R I'm looking at. High res + 60fps, it's pretty nice, and got that old school charm. Blizz allow mods on D2R but with limitations. They made it easier to mod the game on a surface level, like changing drop rates or creating new uniques, but it would be hard to create a big mod like PD2 on D2R, and would likely break the terms of service, especially since they removed direct connection and it would require modifying the executable to bring it back, if humanly possible.

If you nerf Enigma, then increase drop rates across the board. Because farming involves moving around the same map over and over again. Imagine Countess runes farming with a few charges on your teleport? Farming for keys? Basically so many farming spots would become unfarmable

You can just make a sorceress and farm all of those tho, LK, countess, sorcerer, nith. I dont think every class should just auto have teleport, in addition to the flurry of other bis bonuses engima gives

The sorcs teleport in PD2 is put on lightning frames. So it’s a lot slower compared to D2R, but feels perfect.

pd2 could still take a bunch of uniques and just double their stats to make them viable for midgame, still a lot of useless uniques but it's improved 100x over the original d2 at least

Ahahah I love it, its so crazy to see someone still wishing new things on d2r when project d2 already did all that and he rather keep playing d2r. The new graphics are sick but gameplsy come 1st. Anyway blizzard is not willing to change much in d2 anyway cause all the d2 vanilla players gonna cry. Thats why they added mosaic to fix a broken skill tree instead of tweaking the mechanic. Hope that one day PD2 get access to d2r client and merge their game with the new graphic.

Meh outside of buffed uniques there really anything interesting in pd2. Every class has built in mosaic like mechanics that you don't need items to get to. Everyone has teleport, every class has everything. It's just playing different skins at that point. I mean, i do like hearing about it as i like diablo, but I just struggle to see what everyone else is seeing.

Crowdfund a project that just rips it all and make it clear that Blizzard needs new management for projects that were successful, but abandoned for shitty gambles. Then whatever win in court you'd get the support of everyone including the judge (and the counter-suit would include that they give you the rights to D2R And the Name: "Diablo 2 Resurrected" so they dont try anything sketchy afterwards). What a bunch of goofballs at blizzard.. All they really needed to do was to sell us storage (stackable page if you will.. personally didn't really care would've bought 10shared tabs if I needed them for mats) and some QoL / bug fixes. That's all... Sure SSF ladder that merges to NL with everyone else would've been great, Shapeshifting allowed to teleport and Teleport on Tyraels would've been great, but... they really didn't even need to do anything fancy. The AIDS of the visuals associated with Mosaic and fire druids are definitely something I would've hotfixed. D3R (d4) just sucks. Idk why they'd even bother... Just half ass some shitty new content for it to squeeze the melon, but..... dont pull away from better projects L0L. wtf

The graphics are pretty for sure, and I do enjoy D2R. PD2 released a wrapper last season that gives 60+fps and HD graphics, so the graphics don’t really bother me at all.

the more people who quit playing D2R the less motivation they are gonna have to do new releases and QOL improvements. I think we keep playing it but are adamant in the community feedback suggestion forums and keep chiseling at Blizzard until they make the improvements. Unless Project D2 had D2R's graphics which it never will because Blizzard would actually bother to sue them, I wouldnt play it personally.
