I just got some KTM branded ones because, well, I ride a KTM so everyone needs to know I ride a KTM.

All those videos about bikes, but one on selecting tie-downs is just what we need! They're a very important piece of equipment to protect your major investment. Thnx.

Cool! I just bought a pair of soft-loop tie-downs like the ones shown 3rd from the right. Never used this style before. This video was really informative. Thanks!

I put rags on my handlebars and then put the hook with the rubberized coating over it so it doesn't wear into my bars.

FYI, for my 450, I love the Works Connection EZ straps. However, for my R1, the suspension is was too stiff (at 6.5 turns in of rebound) for them to stay locked when set, so, cheap walmart ratchet straps were a great alternative.

No mention of protecting fork seals by letting frame float rather than cinching it down tight. Important if taking long trips.

I have many sets of Rhino USA tie downs. Affordable, made in the USA, built in soft loop extensions, and their customer service is awesome...!

hate to break this to you but none of rhino's products are made in the USA. their marketing may fool you though

Thoughts on the Tie Boss to secure an ATV? I've seen some videos and they seem really simple just not sure how they would hold up on a longer trip.

Do you recommend fewer stronger tie downs or more but weaker tie downs? Thanks

To make poor man's carabiners, I use electrical tape or zip-ties to close the ends so I can run less tension and not worry about them jumping the hook. If I'm really worried about the vehicle falling I will double strap the forks and run rear straps off the frame or pegs. I have spots for bikes with no place to jam the front tire so 4 straps work well. On smaller trailers I also run a rope between two bikes bars so if one gets away it won't fall off the trailer.

Ratcheting straps are so fiddly and if your friend is helping you load up, he will blow right through your fork seals when your not looking.
