Horses for courses I guess, I just got a 6.1" Addict, mainly for the bar height but I'm loving it. But, I'm old and taking this up as a hobby, I'm much more comfortable than on the smaller scoot BUT I'm not so interested at my age in doing the whips etc I'm choosing to focus on grinds, gaps and half pipe/bowl. I got up and out a quarter on the bigger deck a week after I got it for the first time, don't think I would ever have done it on the smaller deck I was riding before.
@raymondwarnerofficial3 жыл бұрын
If you’re just scootering for the cruising aspect and doing more so “flowy” riding, that’s a great size. The 6.1 is a great size because you have so much room to work with. Smaller decks most definitely are not cruiser decks. Especially for those who are taller and are utilizing the size to their utmost advantage. Great choice. How are you liking the deck thus far?
@asjmpickle3 жыл бұрын
I'm disabled and also love a big scoot. Can I whip no, but I have 4 pegs and can grind all of em. I love grinding rough as concrete because I come from bmx so smooth rails etc feel awful to me. I loop out on a rail but I love a good cruise around and a grind on concrete ledge no coping no wax.

If you want to ride street, but youre smaller, like me (5' 5") GET AN AZTEK they are by far the lightest and cheapest street decks out there, i ride the 6x22 siren right now and it is the best deck i've ever stepped foot on, but i can whip it just like my prodigy. they also have a 5.5x21 which is perfect for hybrid

I bought a $85 scooter that was discounted by alot And the deck feels too small compared to a 5.5 which was my first deck, i think it was 4 inches If i wanna get a deck in between, should i get 4.7 or 5?
@raymondwarnerofficial3 жыл бұрын
Most people would prefer a 5 to be honest. I think that is going to be the most comfortable for you since you started on a 5.5. A 4 is too small for everyone nowadays with the exception of little Timmy who is just riding in the backyard. Hope that helps my man. 👍🏼

Raymond I ride a 22.5(570mm) urbanartt primo V2 deck and I loop out a lot would a short deck stop me looping out as much? I also ride 735mm tall urbanartt vultus bars so the scooter doesn't whip and such fast but the weight is all basically on the back 25% and higher up I'm 5'8 and like 250lbs (I'm a fat girl) but is it worth trying a smaller deck? I started on a 19.5 deck which was too small then went to 21x4.5 which wasn't wide enough but I did like it I just liked the street riding style of urbanartt edits that I started buying their parts and thinking I need a big deck and 4 pegs (I come from bmx so peg grinds feel amazing while grinding an aluminium scooter deck is a horrible feeling and I loop out on rails Or coping as I normally grind old worn out concrete with no wax)
@raymondwarnerofficial3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t recommend getting a smaller deck for yourself because of the fact that you’re looping out. A smaller deck (shorter) will decrease your wheel base length in turn making it easier to loop out. That being said, you may be one who would prefer something like a 23” long or 23.5” long deck. Before we move forward, please understand that 23+ is a massive deck size so you may want to try one out that already belongs to someone else prior to pulling the trigger on one. But that would be a good option to lessen the load on looping out. Hope this helps!
@asjmpickle3 жыл бұрын
@@raymondwarnerofficial so you're saying it would probably be the opposite? I have ridden a 23 x6.6 and it felt about the same as my current scoot it just felt too wide. 5" or 5.5" is kinda the width I wanna stick around as I like to do peg grinds not so much deck grinds. I thought maybe a smaller deck means my weight is a bit further forward but I can see my huge bars and a tiny deck being a non stop loop out scooter. I did have a big fear of being thrown over the front which has kinda shaped the position I stand in, tbh I only began scootering at 24 before that I had ridden bmx for 12 years but was hit by a car and left disabled unable to enjoy the things I could do on a bmx anymore.

I mean, if you like the feel of the deck while you're riding then you're good to go. Might be a good idea to ride someone's scooter for an hour or so at the skatepark if they aren't cruising and they're willing to switch you for a short while.

I have a a size 14 shoe, started on the prodigy S8 street but wanted to try a larger deck and went with the north horizon 7”. Most tricks are more difficult and I constantly catch the corners of the deck when dropping in causing me to bail! I just bought the Envy Ivan Jimenez sig AOSV5 deck 5.5” and hoping this will be the middle ground for me for width and length. RW keep up the amazing content!
