You can get GPU's with an NPU built in or attach a NPU to an open PCI port right now, they've been a thing for a while. The new Copilot+ stuff is all arm based though, so you won't be able to use that stuff specifically on desktop until the fall, when they're supposedly coming out with Intel/x86 stuff

Both the the intel Core Ultra 100 (Meteor Lake) and Ryzen 8000 laptop cpus are kind of rushed first-generation/in-between-generation products. Intel's Lunar Lake ,AMD's Strix Point, and Qualcomms X-Elite have the TOPs to do actual useful local AI tasks. The NPU is just a low power and more efficient way to do some local AI tasks on laptops/devices with batteries. If you've got a Nvidia GPU, well, you can already do way more than these NPU's.

Windows 11 is something else I know but sometimes the first impression is the good one and without changing the matter thinking about the things that you will make with your PC,or OS. The first impression is: that's all? It's a bit like Windows XP vs Windows 7,the miss of real things make all the thing too much and harder to control. In add with the Windows 11 interface after some times you will have more than enough. I would most recommend Windows 12.

There is many improvements with Windows 11 for sure I don't deny it,but without different versions of the same OS,Windows is starting to get a "conventional OS". To be something more than more it would either require a 8K UHD technology or something like that in a special version.

Windows 11 is a bit too much like the olders Windows starting at Windows 7,well for someone like me. For someone like me I would most recommend Windows 13 or maybe Windows 14. I can wait without many efforts if I create something very special I can make efforts either. I know that when they release different versions of the same Windows,the delay between those versions is lot shorter. For my further next laptop I'll wait for a new kind of OS. The potential of my new laptop is very very high so I can wait very long time. The thing would be to create something very special as I said.

For my further laptop I'll get one with a built-in special technology instead of getting it with the OS. If there is no more Windows specials versions,with my laptop my graphics card is already just like a technology and it's QHD and I have a 4K monitor. It's too complicated to wait and to depend on things like this and if it doesn't work you would have to let down,well it's not always the same thing. Well there is something to do with this.

Now I understand. There won't be others special Windows 11 versions available,it wasn't planned for Windows 11 if not there would be a upgrade option. Just like in the Windows 7(16-bit) there was a 32 and a 64 bit version upgrade for when released,in the options. Or just like in Windows 8 (8.1) there was a 8.2 upgrade for sure. Well for a further Windows it would be lot better to change the versions names for something really different or to change it completely,for everyone to not misunderstand. Or it would be possible to release both at the same time to make the thing more simple. I won't buy Windows 12 for sure. A part of this they say that it will probably be released in september or october 2025. Years pass and go like nothing,this is nothing.
