Well, I grew up on classical music and love Chopin. A lot of musicians say that classical and metal are closely related, and Lovebites have just provided the proof!

Miyako (lead guitarist/pianist at stage left) is a generational talent who is a virtuoso on BOTH the guitar and piano. She has been classically-trained on the piano since the age of 3 (you are right !). Miyako also composed & arranged "Swan Song" and this track is a neoclassical metal masterpiece. Throughout the song, you can hear motifs from Romantic-era composers Chopin (intro, main riff, solo) and Dvořák (Chorus). Miyako's piano intro is Chopin's "Étude Op. 10, No. 12 in C minor", aka the "Revolutionary Étude".

“The hammer of wrath” was played at the concert “Knocking at heaven’s gate” (2023), this performance (Chopin etude + Swan song) was played at “Five of a kind” (2020)

Nice to meet you from Japan. Some knowledge of history is necessary to understand the meaning of the lyrics of this song. In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, leading to a revolution known as the “November Revolution,” which ended in failure due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He never set foot on the soil of his homeland again. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's representatives presented “Etude OP10, No. 12” in Paris. Franz Liszt, a friend of Chopin, named it the “Revolutionary Etude. Miyako (guitar/keyboards) composed “Swan Song” based on this “Revolutionary Etude” and Dvorak's “New World Symphony. Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite “Swan Lake,” based on the historical background of ““Revolutionary Etude. SwanSong” is a requiem for the warriors who fought to reclaim their homeland, a masterpiece that only Love Bites could complete.

Check out 'Frozen Serenade' next. Miyako plays piano with her guitar on her lap because immediately after, she has to shred. I don't think Midori takes her guitar off either when she switches to acoustic. 😂

Miyako is such an incredible musician. I don't think I've ever seen anyone who can play both Piano and guitar at a virtuoso level. For another song featuring a grand piano and a metal band, you must listen to Epica performing Once Upon a Nightmare from the Omega Alive virtual concert. You will get fantastic piano, the stunning voice of Simone Simons, and more virtuosic guitar.

LB blends old fashion metal with individual influences and is mixed in classical forms. Miyako is a classical trained pianist who self taught the guitar at 18. She arranges and composes many of their works while Asami/vocals writes most of the lyrics. If you like strange and sometimes weird lyrics with epic music you should dive into their albums.Whiter Shade Of Pale and Homburg are well known but listen to Pilgrims Progress or Dead Man's Dream. Great choice Lady Swift (not Taylor 😉 as you firmly point out here), In reality, what makes this track special to me is the Chopin body, with a long, supporting, rock out-tro which is the not-so-unusual Lovebites style. I generally prefer good rock music to good classical music, but a piano performance like this is stunning (now I'm giving a plug to youtube sensations Gamazda and Kirsti Hille, who do instrumental only covers of all the *B I G* hits from the 70's to the present day). I bit my tongue above not giving you the authentic French pronunciation as "Shop-Pa(n)" but since this is now "out of the eyes" 😊 :- Chopin's mixed heritage-being Polish by birth and having a French father-contributes to the variations in pronunciation. While many English speakers might say "Show-pan," the French pronunciation is more accurate to his identity. Classical music and metal are actually not that different as genres. Strip down a metal song, and play it on, let's say a piano, and you get a classical masterpiece. Miyako herself is a good example of this, with her piano cover of Helloween's song Eagle Fly Free. Helloween is Haruna's (the drummer) favorite band, if I recall correctly. Another example is Harp Twins cover of Metallica's One, played on, you guessed it, a harp. The other way around works too, take a classical piece, like Moonlight Sonata, and if your name is Tina S, you can turn it into a shredfest.

They've many line-up changing, they still very good. 1 st song for discover is BLOODY BRIDE, next STILL BURNING, BRAVE THE NEW WORLD. the lineup is : Kimi-Vocals Haru-Bass Kai-Drums Mitsuru-Guitar Misa-Guitar Departure of Misa replace by Misaki in 2018 Departure of Mitsuru replace by Ayumi in 2019. Departure of Kai replace by Yuri than Vivi than Natsumi in 2019. They had many trouble for drums in 2019, 3 differents drummers take the place. Departure of Misaki in 2022 replace by Moe.
