An interesting comparison! Seems it's more manageable to get a quicker tempo in this one. I like the glissandi in the Tarrega, but it is indeed more faithful to Chopin to not have included them. Thanks for linking the score too!

Thanks again, Josh - I think this Llobet version would be a total BREEZE if it weren't for that insane 5 note chord in measure 12. It's a killer on my small hands. Of course, I could always change it to be like Tárrega's version and do it as a four note chord...

what a great tone tate, i think i need to give silk basses another try, a nice 30s guitar from spain wouldnt be too bad either :) keep the videos coming please

Oh man...I forgot to call out that these are rayon silk basses from Aquila. Have you used them? They are more durable and have better intonation than real silk. They are about as close to the real thing you can get. That being said, I just put the real silk basses back on this guitar two days ago hahaha. There's nothing quite like them. I know they will break at the headstock end in a couple of weeks...but after they break you can splice them with gut pieces and then they last a very long time.

Wow, I had no idea Llobet had an arrangement of this. I definitely prefer his (sorry Francisco). I think the glissandi in Tarrega's are a bit over the top and detract from the simplicity of the music. You play both of them very beautifully, though, as always.

I like the more guitaristic version of tarrega imo because it really sounds like it was made for the guitar! But this is also beautiful and your tone is really nice as well

@@tateharmann3057 You recognise greek letters! Damn didnt expect that! Very nice. Also, on a side note, your Manuel Cubedo videos were one of the convincing factors that led me to cut off my nails and after learning the proper way i have never sounded better! So i have to thank you for that too. Cheers!

@@userAthinodoros Oh wow that's great to hear! Cubedo's playing is very convincing haha. Yes, I studied Greek a bit...but only Koine/NT Greek. I have no idea how much it has in common with modern Greek because I essentially know nothing about modern Greek!
