Fun fact, when Chopin wrote this prelude he also wrote on his journal: "Here i am... Arms crossed, trusting my piano all my anguish and despair and almost supplicating to heaven to vanquish all mankind"

Chopin's final Prelude is a thrilling display of virtuosity, with trills, scales and octaves suspended above the stormy sea of notes played by the left hand. The music seems to evoke a hero's journey into battle, even as the hero knows they will not survive. Although there are moments of glory, the three chilling notes at the end seem to clarify with certainty that hero has met a tragic fate.

I believe this prelude has hardest difficulty rating according to henle if im not wrong and i believe its way harder than people usually act like it is even tho i didnt play any of the other hard preludes i failed in this prelude a lot and have less difficulties playing some of the harder etudes like op 10 no 1... so i lack info to judge correctly but im pretty sure lot of people underestimate it too
