Thanks for sharing. In many moments the music is played so straightforwardly (or is even rushed) that it surprises me that this is Zimmerman or Chopin. Despite that, this sonata is so wonderful (and following it with the score) that I listened to it till the end and I enjoyed it.

Zimerman's recordings are generally well-behaved and not overly aggressive and at standard tempo. This sounds a bit different from his usual recordings lol, his fourth movement is so intense but definitely not vulgar!

Fialkowska does it better IMO. This is technically amazing, but the Fialkowska respects rhythm much more and when she does play with the rhythm or dynamics it’s much more deliberate

I think since some years Zimerman follows the same style: pure hypertechnic, that fails for Schubert and is not best for Chopin. I prefer the Zimerman from its Liszt records, Chopin by Lipatti and Gilels😊
