Just wanna say this about the smile fruits, they are basically bad devil fruits, that can literally be failures, causing the people who eat them to always smile. So chopper curing them would kinda make the influence of kaido and orochi on wano less impactful. Plus, since they technically are devil fruits, making smile fruits curable would indirectly make devil fruit users being able to be cured, which would be weird since they stay with you until death

the SMILE fruits were permanent alterations to the user's bodies, which is why Kaido's army look like freaks. Natural Zoans can change to human form at will as well as being in control of the transformation. Chopper can't change the freakazoid SMILE fruit effects because they are permanent. The constant laughing and smiling of the people of Ebisu is more psychological than chemical, they have literally gone crazy from Orochi and Kaido's abuse of them.

I absolutely love this theory. When Chopper pleaded with Kureha to teach him, his first or second sentence was him saying he'll become the cure. At first glance this looks to be metaphorical, however, considering Oda's propensity for foreshadowing, I don't think this statement should be overlooked.

i think chopper's fruit also allows him to turn into any race (not sure to what extent). By human it could mean all human-like being (that are conscious basically; ex fishman, minks..). One thing i see no one talk about is his kong fu form, he basically took the form of the tribe he lived and trained with, and on one seems to wonder how that is even possible. so his monster form could be a 'giant', his 'baby geezer' form after he took the rumble ball in onigashima could be a tontatta form (to use less energy and recover), he has a reeindeer form that is different from the one he usually stays in which i think could be a mink form. If one were to keep going with this theory it could be pretty useful as an ability for him, but i dont see him turning into a fishman or a lunarian for exemple, unless oda were to surprise us

@@DaksSake I disagree with the idea that doc q represents pestilence he represents the horseman of death ( his nickname is even the death god and he has a pale horse Doc Q shares several similarities to the fourth horseman, "Death", of the biblical figures "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" mentioned in Christianity. In many illustrations, "Death" is described as a gaunt figure who rides a sickly and pale (or gray) horse while wielding a scythe much like the grim reaper. With his new Devil Fruit he resembles the fourth rider even more, as the rider was tasked with spreading death via disease, along with swords, famine and the beasts of the world. (the other horseman are things which lead to death ( pestilence, war , famine etc)

Yet again, really good content. I REALLY like the idea that Doc Q is related to Hiruluk somehow. Also I’ve always wondered why chopper’s human fruit doesn’t make him look like a human. But that also does make sense that he could be a forest god of come kind. I think about it this way, in terms of evolution. Maybe chopper doesn’t give off a “human” appearance in full human form because humans wayyyy long ago used to be completely hairy like chimpanzees. They even called chopper a gorilla at some point if I remember right. So chopper would have essentially eaten a Bigfoot fruit which would make sense in line with the forest god idea. Forest God Chopper has a magnificent ring to it, and him imbuing everything he comes into contact with with life/vitality/healthiness (via cherry blossoms) because of it is pure 🔥. 3. In support of the idea that Roger & Whitebeard met at the place Hiriluk spoke of, the fight between their crews lasted for days. We have already seen Blackbeard take peoples powers temporarily while still alive. And Vegapunk can extract part of the powers without killing (senor pink - and we don’t even know if he still has his powers or not, maybe VP did take them all). where you mentioned the forest god might not have forest powers that made me think, there's a difference between having "the powers of a forest" and "the powers of a god of the forest". What is a forest god? what do they represent in mythology? They most likely preside over the lands forests and all the animals in it, perhaps being able to talk to them like chopper can. Depending on how the forest god in OP is worshiped and represented in their mythology we might find more of an idea of what their powers are.

I honestly think that the 'basic' Hito Hito no mi eaten by a human would give them PEAK human attributes. Basically One Piece Captain America. Chopper has displayed an incredible amount of intelligence, even for a normal human, and he is also quite strong. And on top of that, he is astoundingly clever, toying around with his fruit abilities more than literally any other user we've seen. He is the only zoan with more than 3 forms and a possible awakening. I still think that Rumble Balls induce a kind of artificial awakening, which is why he couldn't control the forms if he did it too much too fast, and why Monster Point was so out of control until he trained with it. That he can now access these forms WITHOUT Rumble, I think means he has awakened his fruit, or at least tapped into it's awakening potential if not gone all the way. Thank of it. What are humans known for being more than any other animal? ADAPTABILITY! So the Hito Hito's power is the ability to adapt your body as needed. Strength, speed, sight, thought, defense, etc.

I still believe that Choppers Hito Hito no Mi is a mythical one aswell and all straw hat fruit names or character names include the numbers 2 and 9. Let me explain it with a huge turn: It makes sense when you look at the One Piece number games. A lot of things revolve around the numbers. When it comes to celestial numbers we have: I-Mu 16 (i read as prefix of ichi) and the laser beam that eradicated Lulusia had 16 beams. It is a celestial number, also 16 is pictured by the ancient Chaldeans as “a Tower struck by Lightning, from which a man is falling, with a Crown on his head.”. But in the bible 16 is the number that represents love of god. Strange way to express Gods love by eradicating Lulusia. It also has a connection to Luffy because i by itself means 50 and 6 is still mu. added together its 56. Go-Mu means 5-6, which is Luffys devil fruit number. It shows the connection to the celestial dragons represented by Imu and also the connection to Luffy. Maybe not even as an antagonist, the love thing could also mean a motherly love. But Imu being Luffys mother... even Luffy shouldnt be able to do such a stretch :D The straw hats devil fruits all resemble numbers aswell. Many know that already and Oda also mentioned this in an SBS when a fan figured this out, because 2 and 9 were missing. Many suspected that Kumas fruit will end up with the Straw Hats because Nikyu Nikyu can be read as 2-9 2-9. Luffy himself foreshadowed his awakening the whole series because he loves meat, and meat is "niku" in japanese which can also be read as 2-9. Then he became Nika, which also is a derivative of 2-9. But there is another 2-9 already in the crew: Nico Robin, niko can mean 2 by itself if you count small things like apples (ringo niko = two apples) and the name Robin thats with Ro = Roku = 6 or just read Niko as 2-9. Bi is also a way to read the number 2 so her name is a whole number pun by itself. Its confusing but what do you expect from japanese? Kuma has the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi (2-9 aswell) and was suspected, that his fruit will end up with the strawhats aswell, which might still be happening. Back to Chopper: He lives on a winter Island and is basically a human reindeer with a blue nose, because it would be too obvious for him to be Rudolf and the only true rednose in the series is Buggy, Odas favorite character. Now its getting interesting: What does reindeer mean in japanese? Of course, you got it, Tonakai, thats why his name is Tony Tony Chopper. But there is a second variation: Junroku. And that can be read as 16 (sixteen). Sixteen is a celestial number, like Imu also represents also love. Now the 2-9 is missing. But we have a sacred being with the 2-9 included in the name: Nikoro. Which is St.Nicholas, or otherwise known as Santa Clause. So Choppers fruit is the Mythical Zoan type Hito Hito no Mi: Model Niko Niko. Its genius to include Rudolf and Santa into one character and also including all these number puns. But why am I so sure about it and why would we need Santa in this story? Because St. Nicholas, what many people do not know, is the patron of sailors. Okay maybe thats a coincidence and Oda also didn't know all this. But wait! Chopper invented the rumble balls... the max number he can use is three... What is St.Nicholas often depicted with? Three golden apples. I am not kidding. St.Nicholas gave these three golden apples to three poor girls and saved them from poverty. At that point I believe, Oda knew this and wrote these rumble balls into a specific character trait to chopper. I believe Chopper will awaken in a moment, when he thinks he needs his rumble balls but is afraid to use them as he would lose his mind. In the past he relied on them and gave away his concience. In the next time this will happen, he will not use the rumble balls and trust himself, which ends up in his awakening. It might happen really quickly in the story, as three of the vegapunks are girls and that would be a nice spin to the origin story of St.Nicholas, if there is a dire situation, which only Chopper can solve. I really dont know what his awakened powers might be, but it could be really crazy. For example Santa knows what every child wants and if they were brave kids. Maybe he can read minds or thoughts and has some powers against ill-minded people. Oda can go really crazy with this one, but I think, it would be great if these powers wouldnt improve his physical powers a lot. Well thats only my theory and as we all know Oda will do something completely different. But it would also make sense and could be exciting, because we would also need a connection for Brook to the 2-9, which he is currently missing. :)

Oohhh and the most important thing that best explains why Oda would give such fruit to Chopper. When children are very sick in hospitals, when it's that time of the year, they send Santas to cheer them up. I am watching/ reading one piece since 2011 and i am 23 years old. No comic, no move, no series, no manga, no graphic novel, no anime and no rest of the fu*king things is better then one piece in this omnivore (if it exists). One piece for me is like a person that is in my life, how was there for me when no one was and taught me lesson of my life. I hope i never die before seeing the end (I hope it never ends because the last episode will be saddest day of my life ) because I will feel like I was not Lucky enough for having a good end. I don't really think any of this is going to happen for a simple reason: It would weaken one of the most important characters backstory, being law. The whole point of risking their lives for something dofi wanted so bad was, that it's the only fruit that was able to heal diseases no doc can cure. Now introducing a fruit that can do exactly the same without giving you strong abilities and a special operation even, would do no good to law nor chopper. Edit: the importance of hito hito fruits in general and their connection to various types of human like gods on the other hand is awesome. As a fruit really named the human human fruit I would rather think of someone like Adam as the first human or something. But the forest god is a better fitting to chopper.

I was thinking the same thing at first, how it would diminish Law's ability, but then I remembered his epithet of "surgeon of death". Law's ability lets him do operations which means he needs to physically alter their body. Plus, his ultimate ability is about immortality. He was never really portrayed as a "healer". Chopper, on the other hand, has been a healer since day one. The only thing we've seen his fruit do that has helped him heal however is give him intelligence and thumbs. His own love and smarts get him to make his own medicine that can cure people of ailments. The forest god boost would be awesome though! Chopper is one of the best

Law is a surgeon, he cuts people open to heal/harm them. His personality is cold and intellectual. Chopper is more of a general healer and pharmacist, and is a very warm person while also being an airhead. They are very different manifestations of the skill

calling choppers monster form "enies lobby strength" is pretty unfair. sure, it was first used during that arc, but it was so far beyond anything we had seen up until there. he seemed much much stronger then anyone on that island, even if you include luffy and rob lucci. he just wasn't in control enough to make use of that.

Great theory... I just don't have that much faith in Oda anymore. I've become accustomed to only expect cool stuff to come for the main Strawhats, and the rest is just for merch (with some occasional badasserry). I gave up on hope of finding out more about the characters that didn't get to have their background laid out like sanji (and even Zoro) has, and I take refuge on cool theory videos like this one.

That means a lot - on some level I agree with you, there have been so many “layups” for cool character moments that Oda hasn’t done, which you know, sometimes he does something better, but there are a lot of times where it feels like a character is kind of overshadowed or forgotten about and chopper is one of the main ones. - As for Chopper’s awakening I can see him having a more human like form where he will have the ability to use Seimei Kikan thanks to him creating the Rumble Ball unlocking his various forms after the time skip - As for Hiriluk being the father of Doc Q I don’t really see that being true since 8 years ago Hiriluk died at the age of 68 & he was born on Drum Island while Doc Q was born in the North Blue - I thought that Usopp would be the God of the Forest because of his epithet & that he was trained by Heracles a powerful warrior of the forest

I could be a "quack" for saying this but I feel like chopper's devil fruit could awaken into some sort of Angel? As angels are servants of God, they are tasked to heal, protect, and serve the weak or misfortune. I was thinking a few days ago about brain point, and how it stopped being used after time skip, while with other points we've seen them again but better (and extra points added). I really don't think brain point is just something Oda forgot Chopper has, I think Chopper is experimenting/enhancing/something with it and the next time we see it being used it's going to be a mind blowing scene, either in fight or in saving someone. It can even be the awakening of the fruit, the "enlightenment" you were talking about. It's even more pointed out it will happen because the few times he used it was to find clues on what to do next in fight, due to his inexperience, and his time skip training didn't involve much fighting which leaves room for brain point to be used again. But agreed, Chopper really needs some spotlight right now. While on this topic, I also wish Franky would get some extra new power. I know he got completely remodeled after time skip, but in terms of story and development he's just a supporting character nowadays. But it's difficult not only when your cast is so big, but when the stake of the story is so high as in defeating the yonkos. So we're just waiting for everything to come together, I think Egghead and the next arc are going to be more focused on character development so here's hoping. I discovered you by accident and I enjoy your breakdowns a lot, you're underrated and very entertaining! keep doing a great job

I think the power of choppers hito hito no mi is compassion or understanding, the capability to connect to other people around him in deeper ways, understand and be understood (which could also give him perfect diagnosis). Chopper's dream as a deer was not cure anything, but be accepted even him being different, and isn't that what all humans (human human no mi) included want? Acceptance, connection? Thats why he was chosen.

When you mature is when you are in tune with what you want, what you feel and what you have to do It's like becoming your true person after having been a puppet like in the pinocchio story. When you're a child you are developing and doing what others tell you to do and you are finding out about the world and yourself. So it is like an awakening the human fruit because not everyone matures fully out of fears and traumas and having to become responsible but Oda was thinking that not awakening is also human that is why he ran away I believe - And working through traumas does make your body stronger, many diseases come from psychological pathologies so...

So far we've seen 3 Hito-Hito fruits. Two of them are Sun God Nika and Buddha, who's also a divine figure. Chances of Chopper's fruit being just a normal human fruit? 0%. I'm betting my left nut that his fruit is Hito-Hito Model: Horned God Cernunnos. This way you could even argue that Chopper's horns in monster point and horn point aren't actually *his*. It's just a coincidence that he has antlers as well, but any human with his fruit would have them too, as they're part of its powers.
