Open station tractor is handy on the blower! You don't have to walk around to engage PTO and throttle, if you're arms are long enough! We ran a Ford 9600 at the blower, and you could hit the stuff from the right side door. Great video!
@mikep78106 ай бұрын
Thanks Morgan. I've always thought having a tractor with a 4 post would be great on the blower. Now after using one on the blower I'd love to have one for the blower and some other small jobs
@MorganOtt-ne1qj6 ай бұрын
@@mikep7810 We ran a Ford 9600 to the blower with a Hinson "cab", but rarely had the doors on it. Had the RH steps so you could easily reach PTO and throttle without going around, or through a little window. JD didn't have RH door available until the original 6000/7000 series in the 90's. Something that always bugged me about the SoundGard's.

Well now that's all over with and out of the way its time to get stuff done. Stay safe and I will look forward to your next one

Nice to have neighbors and family to lend a hand in a pinch. We're baling all of our first cutting again seems ee can get a little extra man power right now. It seemed to work real good last year. Blast from the past is our today but it all gets done just the same .

We chop our alfalfa but the rest of first cutting we are going to round bale

It occurred to me that it might make sense to have the 4055 chopping haylage every year since you would be putting the hours on a less expensive tractor. I'm thinking the 2940 could handle the wagons so the 4040 could be on the blower.
@mikep78106 ай бұрын
Its a good idea to keep the hours off the more expensive tractor but the 4555 handles the chopper much better

Don't be wasting you time and hours running 45 on the mower. Don't care what people say. It's over kill. 4320 would run that mower. Now you choping with a smaller tractor
@mikep78106 ай бұрын
The power is nice but the main reason I run the 4555 on the mower is for the weight. We have some good hills and I was getting pushed when I was mowing with the 4250. Not to mention the 4555 is already a 1000 pto and with the other tractors I would have to switch back and forth. What we need and have talked about is another tractor to put on the mower so we can leave the 4555 on the chopper. The pin hole that was in the line didn't come from running the tractor on the mower. If we kept it on the chopper then it would have went when we were chopping
@bryankeator83966 ай бұрын
Agree. We just always learned. Don't always run your big horse when not needed. Have a good one mike
