Cleaning up some felled trees out of a clients yard with Falcon X-cavation. Splitting and stacking the firewood into their sheds. Some monster knotty oak logs really made us work for it!

Actually the big fellow was slicing the edges and very few people know that is the way to cut difficult rounds, like Elm or those with knots. Also works on almost every other types of wood. He did a very good demonstration of that skill. There are difference ways to split wood and the good ways get the best results without completely wearing out the one doing the splitting. Personally, if I can't pick it up and put it on my splitter, I never cut trees that big, I have to many trees to cut much more around 20 inch round, 18" long. But every tub sets on its own bottom. All did a good job, except breaking the window.(:)

Put wood up on another piece or uphill. Swinging down through towards your feet will result in a very serious injury eventually. Keep your hands lower than the maul head at moment of impact. Club head speed -- smooth stroke, not a brute strength thing.

I would highly recommend Sam,for you to get a tractor with a bucket and a backhoe, don't know your finances but that would be a big plus for your channel to start with, I'm sure you could build your channel up to be a very big number of views and prescribers, because there is not too many women that does this work and you will stand out I'm just saying I wish you the most luck that you can possibly have, and I'm happy to see that you do have a channel. The best luck with your life and your happiness.

I worked with a biker crew in far northern CA back in the 1970s. They were felling, cutting, and splitting 50 cords a week and selling in Reno NV. Now I barely go through a cord a year, down here in sunny San Antonio, across the alley from the Alamo. Proud to say I've never bought any firewood, only sold it or burnt it. Sitting by the stove right now, with my dogs. I really enjoy all your videos, Sam, keep up the good work!

The guy with the axe worries me Sam. The big guy has the right idea & takes his bits to chop well away from you & the splitter. Splitting should be in one area, & each axe guy should have his own zone to work within, away from each other & away from you. Swinging axes around like that when you were leaning in was hard to watch - be careful out there Sam, we love you & want you to be safe.

You guys really worked hard and it's great to see that in today's world. The way I attack those huge narly trunk logs is by chain sawing them into 12 inch long pieces and sometimes a bit smaller. 16 in or longer it's super hard to split them. Once you get them into small sections they will split fairly easy. Cutting with a chain saw down the length as you guys were trying to do is also really hard to do. For me I don't mind having small chunks , they all burn the same. Tree trunks are so fin heavy and unless you got equipment to lift them the best way is to cut them in small sections, it works for me because I'm an old bastard LOL and hate picking those suckers up. Keep up the good work , oh ya a headache rack for his truck saves windows and you can stack the wood higher , but you guys knew that didn't ya lol

36:17 you will get fine sawdust if you cut down the log with the grain. Turn the round 90 degrees so that long strips come out of the saw, and it will cut 20 times as fast. The saw could be sharp, but you were cutting with the grain.

Was fun watching you guys processing those logs. About drinking stream water, maybe I have been brain washed by articles, but there are so many parasites, viruses and bacteria in surface water not to mention man made pollutants that get in it that it is best to drink bottled water. Bottled water at least has a liability factor to be safe from the supplier, who doesn't want to be sued.
