I ( Rob O'Neill) am a farmer in central Nebraska. I farm alongside my father and two brothers. We grow and produce corn and soybeans. I have a passion for farming and the use of technology that makes it more efficient. I hope these videos help farmers connect consumers in what we do on a modern farm. Thanks for watching it.

Good to see you Rob. Happy all is well and getting ready for spring. As far as KZbin, do what makes you happy but I do really enjoy watching you. The day to day work on the farm is the best. For what it's worth.

For me it would be family first, them farming, then hobbies (you tube). Thanks for the update, was wondering where you were. Dodge Brothers fell off you-tube for a while also.

Just yesterday I pulled up your channel to see if you've posted anything lately or if KZbin is screwing around. It is the slow time of the year so it can be hard to have something interesting enough to video. Alot of the other popular channels i follow have posted very little lately.

Hey 👋 I’ve got a small farm in Minnesota where we have to rely on irrigation. I also drive truck in Nebraska ( actually in Grand Island now). I find it interesting how Nebraska farmers will go at great lengths to irrigate every square inch of their land. So if you get time this summer could you go over how you hit the corners and the hard to reach sections that the center pivot can’t reach? Thanks

I say do it when you can rob! I was wondering if you could show more on the gravity irrigated fields. We’ve recently started doing some but having trouble getting water all the way across. I know in the past you’ve used a tool to clean the bottoms of the beds. Thanks for sharing!

good to see you. low grain prices here in sioux dont seem to lower land auction prices ranging from 19600 to 29600 per acre in sioux county iowa. obrien county iowa 12500-14500 per acre.

What's the story with the few trees we see in the background? Are they natural or did ye plant them? Do they serve any purpose for you? or are they a nuisance when ploughing? thanks for the videos.

They’re just random, it’s a pasture behind me there. It’s interesting when you look at older pictures from the area how many less trees there was. I guess wildfires back in the day took care of them.

You mention tilling all the gravity irrigated fields. How come?
@ONeillFamilyFarms
@ONeillFamilyFarms 2 ай бұрын
We have to be able to ridge ditches down the rows after the corn comes up. So it takes some sort of tillage to be able to do that.

I have the same situation, some flood ground and pivots, was wondering where you can buy an implement like that or was it something you guys built?
@ONeillFamilyFarms
@ONeillFamilyFarms 2 ай бұрын
This one’s made by besler, they have different variations of them. His is just a single blade with narrow, some are tandem blades that are more aggressive.

Ok thanks for answering my question! Been try to figure out a good way to leave the ridges after corn!

If you would buy again would you go with the more aggressive or do you like that model?
@ONeillFamilyFarms

This one disturbs the soil the least, saving moisture is what we are after with this setup. We also have a small row stalker chopper which will chop and rip the whole stalk and root out. We would then strip till after that on in corn stubble. I have a video of it somewhere a year or two back I think.

Thanks I’ll go back and watch that video. We’ve been sugarbeet farmers here for 100 years until American Crystal got greedy and took our allotment over to the red river valley so now we are transitioning to corn and soybeans. We aren’t used to dealing with all of the residue especially on flood irrigation.
