this is by the workflow superior machine, but still can't come close to old MPC.....my ASR10 is goiing to destroy this toy soundwise. This is same like you working in DAW. Same clean sound. No punch. So why to spend 900$ and have sound sound as FL studio , logic pro, ableton.... AKAI SHOULD START THINKING ABOUT CONVERTERS MAN !!!

I have the MPC X, however had this come along beforehand I would have gpt one. The 61 key really missed out on a few things. SD Card slot being one of them... glad the 37 key got that one right... as it is such an overlooked convenience. 👊🧡👍

I have always wanted a mpc finally got the key61 but dont be fooled there is a steep learning curve if your new or comming from maschine or somthing. Akai if you read this please as snap to tempo like serato sample and make the chord function to be played on the keys as well as the pads ...oh and 16 tracks for plugins would be appreciated

They are nearly identical. Just figure out whether 61 or 37 keys is important to you & whether having an SD Card slot on the 37 vs none on the 61 & slightly more memory is worth it in your case.@@kj3887

I really wish AKAI allow to customize buttons via update.. double tapping on ONE & LIVE all the time just to go to grid view is tiring. At the same time next seq. button I never use.. LIVE 2 users also want dedicated program edit button... Come on Akai, you acknowledged by correcting it on this KEY37 >> pls make it an EASY but BIG quality of life update for the existing users!

The midi cc in Akai MPC is buggy can’t use external controllers without getting this bug where it triggers random values. I have gone through 5 updates since I got this machine and Can’t perform live while using midi cc to trigger effects I’m sorry I’m about to switch to something else. This never been addressed at all

Its not DAWLESS 2:47 The software on a MPC is a DAW its just optimised for the dedicated built in computer and its built in controls IE touch screen, pads and keys.
