CHOPTA | Tungnath Temple Uttarakhand Travel Guide | Tungnath-Chandrashila Trek | Hotels in Chopta

Chopta is a starting point for Tungnath Temple Uttarakhand & Chandrashila Trek. Chopta is a beautiful town in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Chopta is surrounded by large green meadows and forests. And hence it is also called Mini Switzerland. Apart from this, Chopta is also famous for Tungnath Chandrashila trek. Tungnath is one of the five Kedars of Uttarakhand.
In this video I will give you information related to Chopta Hotels and Tungnath Chandrashila Trek. Chopta has a small market which has 15-20 shops, mostly small hotels and tea shops. And from these shops you can rent gear related to Tungnath Chandrashila trek.
Talking about hotels, there are 5-6 hotels in Chopta to stay. but 3-4 remain open in the off-season. These hotels are at the starting point of Tungnath trek, I have given their details in the video. You will get basic facility in these hotels of Chopta. Apart from this, the food options in Chopta are also less.
Now let's talk about trek, Tungnath Chandrashila trek comes in easy to moderate trek. Whether you do this trek in the off-season or during the season, keep a few things in mind.
If you are trekking in winter, then you can take trek shoes and sticks on rent from Chopta market itself. If you are planning to go to Chandrashila then start the trek early in the morning. Because if you start late then the magical views from Chandrashila get covered by the clouds and the weather can also be cloudy. Next thing is that if you are doing off-season trek, then take food and drink with you from Chopta market. Because no food or water will be available in the entire trek.
