there are many many was but it all depends on the melody of the particular songs what chords to use. the 3 and the 2 for example also can be substitued by the tritone chord. Bm9 -> Bb9(13) -> Am9 VII VIIb VI Dm9 -> Db9(13) -> Cmaj9 II IIb I or Dm9 -> Dbmaj9 -> C6(9) just an example

Hi, thanks for the comment. You are right you can make those substitutions and many more.

Thank you for sharing your genius. Do you have a practice sheet with the chords of the progression; it would help me, as an amateur, practice. Really smooth, thank you. R

This is for semi advanced players. I am passing along a way to modulate up a a 4 th up seamlessly. On the song Precious lord take my hand ..in the key of F. I was playing the F7. to Bb I..I usually play the F7 to Eb to Bb7. I had recently.been using. the notes A Db Eb G with.a base.F. and b13 b7 and G. Normally I might just say a F dom7 b13 but the individual notes are what is key. You might also see.this as Tritone sub from B9#5. This has beautiful sound if you go to the Bb chord.next. The thing I found out by accident was that.when you play the notes. A Db Eb F..as I said before that is a. F7b13. I notice that the chord wanted to modulate to Bb..the 4 chord.. The A is the leading tone of.Bb scale..the Db and Eb would naturally go to a natural D. the G would fall down to F.

Yeah It is an amazing chord. I am working on Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..or The Christmas Song. It is filled with Jazz innovations. I will.be busy with that, it is beyond me...thats the way to learn.

You can use it when playing songs. You can take part of the progression and use it where necessary. You may already be using it and not realise. Just add the concepts from the video to your playing and see how it goes!

i dont understand its say 736 Shouldnt you be playing just the 7th chord in the key of C instead of those diminished, flats and all those things
@keyboardtips87155 жыл бұрын
So what I mean by 7-3-6 is what is going on in the base notes. You can then assign any chord that fits the progression. This was just an example of an established chord progression. Hope that helps!
