This triads and inversion thing seems like basic stuff maybe, if just looking at it as simple triad and inversions, but in the end this is so useful on so many levels for playing and creating music on guitar. Knowing and mastering this thing helps on so many levels: when soloing, rythm playing, arranging, harmonzing and expending chords. It's also really useful for "learning the fretboard" since these repeats on many places on the guitar neck. Thanks for sharing your tricks! :)

Such a masterful use of colours and improvisation, It all made the song come to life, it was hiding in that generic line that's on the record. So much fun to play Jeff has done a wonderful job for guitarists, every line is tasty. I remember why I bought Jeff's Truefire stuff, he is still the smoothest Cat around Hehe. Great Jeff!

Reminds of the old spaghetti western sounds, or Lyle Lovitt or Chis Isaac. So cool at the very end where Jeff opens up about how he was thinking the same things.

This is why I started playing a low G ukulele. Open uke is the 5th position of the 4 highest strings on guitar. Once you get used to the scale length it's easy to transition between the two.

Jeff, great video. I play a Les Paul special now and a Telecaster, but am thinking of adding a Stratocaster back to the arsenal. Your command of your instrument is such a great example no matter what guitar you are playing but you make the Strat truly sing… Thanks so much.

Smashing video. You made a point earlier about the advantages of using the upper register of chords to cut through the band. It took me years to really stumble across that. Looking back, it's so obvious especially when you understand how the guitar interacts EQ wise against the bass and drummer. It's also such a cool sound. It opened a whole new world to me.

I've been doing this for a while now...what I found help me to learn them is to say the notes out as I play them...I don't mean the musical notes but I mean 'R 3rd 5th...3rd 5th R...etc' as I play the scale so I can see the inversions better... If I decide to have the surgery I need for my tremors I may be hitting you up for some lessons again Jeff... Hope you've been well!!!

Why don't modern strats sound that good? Is it the wood, the pickups, the glue?

That is the question isn’t it? Could be all of those factors. But not all old Strats sound great, but when they do, they are amazing.
