When I heard about the 'hiatus' I was honestly sad and couldn't process all of it but then a member, jungkook, came live and told us that they arent disbanding (the media just basically exaggerated and twisted their words) and they arent really on a 'hiatus/break' as they still will be group activities such as a concert (coming up in oct!) and shooting run bts (their show) so that really cleared it all up and calmed me and everyone else down. Jhope recently released his new solo album and I can't be more proud of them and I am gonna be here for their chapter 2, supporting them as always!

Hi Lindsey, I've bypassed quite a few BTS reactors over time, but paused on yours and subbed you fairly quickly. I appreciated your obvious authority on dance. You present yourself as a veteran dancer and choreographer and I trusted your opinion immediately. You carry yourself as a strong leader and, maybe it's just because I have a very basic background in dance, but I def put myself in student mode when you speak. It was very surprising to hear your story, but I appreciated your decision to expose your vulnerability. It reminds me that strength comes from hardship. Congratulations on your next chapter. Thanks for the reaction. Idol was my first into to BTS. It's a great song.

Welcome back! There is a saying that BTS finds you when you need them. I know that's how it went for me too. I think they have a way of showing you that it is OK and even good to take up your own space and to pursue your personal dreams and wants, not just what those around you want or expect you to do. It's kinda weird how they do this... both in their lyrics and also their personal behavior, they set a great example of putting yourself first. The break just further illustrates this for us. I hope you continue to heal, and get better soon, you are beautiful with or without braces.

This comment is so beautiful. I only discovered BTS very recently. Super sad I didn’t know them sooner but you’re right we find them exactly when we need them. I realized after reading your comment, that going down the BTS rabbit hole was my way of numbing myself after my grandmother passed away. I was feeling super negative, like what’s the purpose of human connection when it just inevitably ends in sadness. Their positivity and dealing with their own dark thoughts in their music was super comforting. Even though it’s not what I was intending when I started on this journey of listening to their music and learning about them, it’s maybe what I needed at this moment. Thanks for sharing your journey too. It encouraged me to reflect on my own experience and why they are hitting me in the feels so strongly.

hi lindsay, im really sorry to hear about what you have been through these past two years. hope you continue to recover well :)) also, i know wearing braces can be really annoying for your self esteem (i had them for five years) but just know other people dont care about that, we just put to much importance on it haha. to answer your question, the traditional korean outfit they are wearing is called hanbok, and this entire video is an ode to their culture. they wanted to make something very "in your face" as there are a lot of people who say they are "too korean" or "not korean enough". love the video, happy you are back :D (also, english is not my first language, so please look past any little mistakes lol)

I’d say they have control of most of the creative process since they write their lyrics themselves and their songs are sometimes self-produced or generally produced by few producers that they have personally known for years. It goes the same with the choreographer they work with, they have a personal relationship with him so I am sure they can recommend things. To sum-up, I think the creative process is kind of a synergy between what the boys and what the company Big Hit want, but the boys have the final say. Anyway, they are now focusing more on solo projects and so far we only got the opportunity to see j-hope solo project, but he said that he had full control over each step of the creative process, from the album-making to the visuals and MV. Also, thank you for being so honest with us, and I wish you the best, both professionally and in terms of your health.

To add to this, I just want to give due to their team. Especially their performance director (Son Song Deok), who has been with them since pre-debut, LUMPENS, who is the creative genius behind most of their MV's, and all the artistic team with BTS.

Oh Lindsay! No wonder Black Swan & Yet to Come both hit you so hard. You're doing great and IDOL (a song about self-love and acceptance) is so perfect for your moment of vulnerability. I know this is easier said than done, but there is no need to explain anything. Anyone who listens to you talk can tell that you are a good egg (as a dancer, as a musician, or even as an individual who is just appreciating good music). FIGHTING. [P.S. As Army, you never have to explain to us the sh*tshow that is the industry - we all know just by watching BTS. // P.P.S. The traditional clothes in Korea is called a Hanbok] Congrats on your new gig!

Thank you for sharing your story, both about your recovery process from your accident and your music. I hope everything goes well for you. Also, I, for one, appreciate your comments on both the dancing and non-dancing aspects. As for how much creative input they have in the non-musical aspect, I imagine they do have some input, but I don't know to what extent. It seems that they have a LOT of input in their solo work. J-hope just released his solo album, "Jack in the Box", and he's involved in many aspects, not just the music. The group were also heavily involved in their pandemic album, BE. Nick Joseph, the choreographer for the dance for Butter Megan Thee Stallion remix, mentioned that the guys had input in that. You should react to this one, btw, it's one of their best.

Welcome back Lindsey. I hope you get better and better. BTS said break and that was incorrectly translated as hiatus...then the media took that and blew it up all out of proportion). RM & JK responded shortly after Festa was aired to reassure ARMY that they are taking a break in doing as many group projects. Well, sort of a break... they announced a concert in Busan in Oct 2023 in support of Busan's bid to host World Expo 2030; they're filming new Run BTS...and content for new Disney+ series. Individually, members have been busy - Hobi is headlining Lollapalooza July 31...JK and Charlie Puth released a new single Left/Right...not sure if you were here when Suga and PSY released That, That single (you might want to watch that). The members have been releasing weekly vlogs. Benny Blanco just announced a collab between BTS vocal line and Snoop Dogg. Other members are ready to start releasing their new albums...rumor has it Suga in August but that's just rumor. JK will release one after Suga (per Festa 2022). If ARMY thought we were getting a break, we were incorrect.

The rabbit in the moon is the Korean version of the the western man in the moon (rabbit pounding rice in a mortar). The video is filled with Korean images, traditional dance moves, and costumes. There is also a play on words in this scene. The lyric refrain is talkin' talkin' which sounds like tokki tokki (rabbit, rabbit).

They work very closely with their longtime director Lumpins (they are a duo). Lots of the things in this video is based off of Korean traditions or lore like the bunny in the moon which stands for prosperity. They have a dance practice for this and you get to see the african influence with the gwara-gwara dance they do. We don't care about your braces. Just glad to see you back and hoping you continue to feel better.

Lindsey, here are a couple of BTS practice videos from 2013 that are guaranteed to make you smile. Suga is absent - hospitalized with appendicitis! - and the BTS genius choreographer Master Son Seung Dok is taking his place. The videos both start with covers of oldie but goodie Korean rap and end with No More Dream, and were performed for "special stage" idol competitions. 방탄소년단 MBC 가요대제전 performance practice 방탄소년단 SBS 가요대전 performance practice (copy and paste in the youtube search bar to find the videos)

Hi Lindsey. Welcome back, we've missed you! You certainly have been going through a lot. I'm so sorry to hear that. But I thank you for your honesty and openness in sharing your struggles with us. I remember the days of being self-conscious about wearing braces. But girl, rock them, and feel cute! 😘 And I hope you are feeling good as new very soon. I have to admit I got the tiniest chuckle from you saying the Idol choreography was chill. I'm glad you enjoyed it, but as so many others have recommended, please also check out a rehearsal video and a live performance of Idol, as well. Even if you don't react to them, you'll get the full effect of the awesome and strenuous choreo that is Idol. I am partial to the Jimmy Fallon live performance because the setting is so beautiful and they all perform in lovely custom-made hanboks. But any live performance would rock your world. Enjoy! Wishing you all the best. 💜

Don't even worry about the braces! I got braces 2x and once in my 30's and I was so glad I did :D It's funny and I think symbolic, you look so sweet and happy with the big smiling braces but also like you're young again, beginning again... the best is yet to come girl❤💜❤ARMY understand the tears, we all have our stories and why BTS brings it out in us. Thanks for sharing yours, you do whatever you want on your channel, no limits.💜You're such a positive energy🦋🌞🌟

Hope you feel comfortable and confident with your braces soon! I'm turning 30 in a few weeks and also rocking a mouth full of metal (for the second time in my life 😅 and also because of health rather than aesthetic reasons), but braces are chill. I also felt awkward the first few weeks after I got mine, but the self-consciousness goes away after a little while, and you're gonna be so happy once they're off! Sending you good vibes 💜

I would definitely check out some live performances of this if you can, they are Intense! Their MMA performance is really well known and the intro has some amazing solo dances, but there's a lot happening on stage so it's a bit busy. For a paired back performance, I love them doing Idol (and I'm Fine) with Jimmy Fallon; their performances really shine since it's just them.

Hey! Welcome back, I've missed your reactions. First, I'm sorry to hear about your health issues and happy that you are sharing it with us. I love your smile, with and without braces. I also understand being self-conscious. I struggle with self worth and this song is sometimes hard for me, since I'm not the best at loving myself. I had the amazing experience of attending one of the PTD LA performances and it was a bit surreal for me screaming "you can't stop me loving myself" with 50k other ARMY. Also traditional Korean clothing is called hanbok. :) Also you should totally watch Baepsae (silver spoon). The dance practice is something every new ARMY should watch.

It's great to enjoy music I already love with someone else who loves it as well and who sees things I don't. Thanks for bringing your expertise and joy to the table. P.S. Sorry to hear about everything you have gone through with your car accidents...I have been in several "hit from behind" accidents, but I didn't have the added pressure of getting myself fit enough to dance again. Glad you are getting help with TMJ issues too..they can be painful and affect all other aspects of your body. Congrats on the BSB tour..that's freaking amazing. I have to say you look stunning with and without the braces. Here is my take on BTS's Festa dinner announcement. I'm not going to lie, for the first day after I watched it I was going around in shock (and crying for a day), but mostly I was upset to see how much pain they were in (and had been in). As an ARMY I felt guilt that they were pushing themselves for us, and maybe not always being happy about it. If anyone has earned the right to focus on whatever they damn please and gain some life experience, it's these guys. Trust me when I tell you, even if these guys never put out another thing, you would have years of content to react to (and we as fans aren't going anywhere). Since Festa I have realized that we are going to have 7 times as much music to stay on top of. It's a great time to be a BTS fan and reactor..individually and as a group. Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing your story as an artist with us. Can't wait to hear your music at some point. The traditional outfits are called Hanboks and they often mix traditional clothing pieces with modern pieces. The live performance of Idol is amazing too. Thanks for reacting and welcome back.

Wishing you all the best with your future endeavors. Good to see you back. I always enjoy your reactions, particularly to the boys. Love the message in this song - 'You can't stop me loving myself' - something we all have to remember when we meet with adversity. And the bunny in the moon has a history all to itself - safe to say the boys put it there. And by the way, I admire your courage with the braces. When we are kids it's normal, but as adults it does cause you to be self conscious. But don't be. Good to see you smiling.
