A friend from Ghana 🇬🇭 encountered similar issues. Fortunately for him there was another Nigerian 🇳🇬 guy who began shouting and questioning the port officials. In an attempt to avoid attention from onlookers and calm the situation, they quickly allowed him to go. Sometimes you don’t have to stay calm. Shout and scream at them. No airline is supposed to return you without any proper reasons.

Be prepared to face similar questions the guy faced. If they ask you to call your family friend on a live video, will he or she be willing to do so?.. If they ask for proof of the immigration document of that friend, will they be willing to share that with the airline as the man did in this video? Just make sure you are prepared

I blame our government oooo. If only our countries had airlines, all these would not happen. I didn’t face any problems with Ethiopian airline. But the guy with Ethiopian who is at the first counter in Ghana checked my visa for 5 minutes as if I sat in my house and stamped it in my passport. He looked closely, he was passing his fingers on the visa. Read my admission letter from head to toe 6 to 7 pages.

Case in point our beautiful countries of DRC, Burundi, South Sudan, uganda, Tanzania, Malawi to mention a few they don't have direct flights. And when u try to use a Neighbouring countries for such an opportunity, they also frustrate you.

This same thing happened to my sister in-law even though she was using a different airline. She was actually going to visit her husband. When she arrived Canada, I spoke with her trying to enquire about the process and she told me that the boarding officials were asking her to confirm her purpose of visit, to which she replied she was visiting her husband and they asked for proof of marriage, she presented her certificate and they went on to enquire about the immigration status of her husband, fortunately enough she was rooming her line cos there was no WiFi, so she put a video call through to him and he provided the documents. I was like "what!", What business does the boarding officials have with all these information? It wasn't until now that her ordeal a week ago came to mind and makes better sense to me.
