DANCE AND SONG FROM THE AEGEAN SEA ISLANDS OF GREECE & SEA OF MARMARA Dance name: Chassapia Song Title: ΡΟΥΜΠΑΛΙΑ (ROUBALIA) - LYRICS IN GREEEK Ποιος είδε νέ ... .............................................. Greek folk music from the Greek refugees of Asia Minor. Song title: ROUBALIA (ΡΟΥΜΠΑΛΙΑ) - LYRICS IN ENGLISH Who has seen a young man in-love? and a thief of love? In order to wake up saying: "ah !" and go to sleep saying: "vah !". Roumpalia ... Garoufalia, the birds make circles over you, Roumpalia, woman from Chios, I saw you yesterday and I got sick (love-sick!). Your eyes made me, when I go to bed I can't sleep, and I can't remember , as Christian how to make the cross. Roumpalia ... Garoufalia, the birds make circles over you, Roumpalia, woman from Chios, I saw you yesterday and I got sick. NOTE: Roumpalia and Garoufalia are Greek woman's names. - The dance is called: Chassapia To our Turkish neighbors, NO, This is not Turkish song or dance. The name of the dance indicates Serbian origin, Also the Area or Region of Artaki on the South cost of the Sea of Marmara was Greek until until about 100 years ago. I do not know if a turkish version of the song exists !

Well, About 100 years ago (LONG BEFORE Turkgay was a country !) if you can call it a country ! The entire coast of the Sea of Marmara and the Aegean Sea was occupied by Greeks. The region or area was called Vithynia or Bithynia (Βιθυνία GR) and had many Greek cities! Including Constantinople (Greatest City) of the time, Smyrna and many more lime Alikarnassos etc. Long before there was a Turkey which was created less than 100 years ago ONLY. Therefore, the songs and dances are Greek, and there is a Turkish version of the dance and perhaps the song exists in Turkish. However, The fact that a Turkish version exists does not make Turkish !!
