Thanks for the great sermon. Indeed the last man who occupied the last space of mercy and walked with HIM to accomplished the mission was Simon the African. Very proud of him.

Cyrene is in modern day Libya. It was a GREEK settlement founded around 631BC. We can google or visit there and still see actual Greek buildings and architecture still standing there. More than likely Simon was actually of Greek decent if he was from Cyrene. Just because Cyrene was on the African continent, does not mean that Simon was a Black African. Along the entire northern coast of Africa along the Mediterranean Sea the inhabitants were then and still mostly of Arab and Berber ethnicity. But still the Greek community of which Simon was a part of, called Cyrene (which is a Greek word) back then was more than likely Greek.

no one really knows the skin color of any of the characters in the bible. Peoplee just assume all of them to be white as the default skin and work backwads from there to reject that claim - all thanks to europeans.

A black man help Jesus carry the cross, is this the reason satan hate us so much? This is my question.
@hj92511 ай бұрын
Please don't zero in on that for three reasons. There were many.exile Jewish communities Simon was one of those. Even then, there were generally few black Africans in the North although they were all Africans. So there os virtually no chance that he was black eben though he lived in part of Africa. Second, Satan doesn't hate one group of us more than another (except Jews). He hates the rest of us just the same way because God created and loved us. Third and most important, we often stress what are really minor differences, but there is only one human race and we are equally part of it

Cherenkov also called Kereyne was not in Ethiopia, it was part of North Africa, called today’s Libiya. Libiya s and other North Africans are not necessarily lack in Colourmagic. Why this color matters here. We all are one in Christ, saved by His blood, saved by His grace alone. Not by cast, creed or color.

What you you call a cat that lives in a kennel? I hate to add to the corrections, but some of those may also need to be reflected on. It is very unlikely, if not completely impossible, that Simon was black however much you and others are desperate for it to be true. Stick to the Ethiopian in Acts as that ethnic ground is solid. We do know that there were other Jewish converts outside Israel but Simon is surely from one of the Jewish trading families and comparable with those exlies seen at Pentecost. That most likely makes him ethnically Jewish, so not "White' in any case

Africian today has changed as it was in Libya is today. This country has been over taken by tribes today that left what was Africian and returned changed in language, pigmentation and culture. Arabs mixed with Africian and many other cultures who took over. However the Africian Man and Woman are progenitor of all the human race... So yes Simon was very much Africian during that time who came from then strongly inhabited Libya!
@Shortyjored885 жыл бұрын
If you read the Bible during that time, it was black Cushite who populated Africa. Genesis 10 even gives details. Later on Romans, Franks, Turks, Arabs, etc. came into North Africa and mixed or displace the original people. The Moors were also responsible in bringing their Europeans wives and children into North Africa.
@imahis31955 жыл бұрын
Kerrie Phillips wrong Arabs took over African much later because Islam came after Christianity so it make sense Arabs to conquer Africa later on. Also, the moors of North Africa conquer and ruled Europe. North Africa was majority African not Arab centuries ago

@hj92511 ай бұрын
He almost certainly wasn't a gentle or African heritage. A Jew living in Cyrene due to trade. Lots more doing the same thing across the world. There isn't close to enough teaching on the history of Jews or early Christians
@hj92511 ай бұрын
@@cliffordcrimson7124 Too much not cross connecting. Jews went all over the world for trade and while there were local converts that isn't likely with him partly because of Jews in Cyrene but also due to his name. His name. All those who could came to Jerusalem so no shocks there either. To get the sense of that and the wide spread of integrated Jewish settlers just look at the Pentecost story in Acts

We can"t know where he was born, but he was almost 100% certain to be a Jew and like many trading families these exiles were spread all over the world. Look at the returners at Pentecost
