Ashley you are the OPPOSITE of canceled for talking about your "age limits" - it's another way of saying boundaries. Early 20s are psychologically, emotionally, and oftentimes sociologically vastly different than early 30s; what you are saying makes so much sense 💖

As a Furry who doesn't see it as a sexual thing (more of a "I like to draw anthropomorphic animals doing everyday things because drawing is nice" thing) the way the Furry conversion immediately turned to "collars in public and buttplugs" was really funny xD I'm so caught up in my artist-bubble on social media that I forgot some people associate Furry with kink first and art second. I get it though, no worries, not cancelled and all that. And if people enjoy Furry in a kink context then all power to them.
@abadeerly

not a furry - i love both sides so much. the art is so amazing, nsfw or not, that i've often forgotten about the "norm" side of the internet being so averse to anthro things. and im a super open person when it comes to sex and kink stuff. the conversation /was/ so genuine and funny.

Honestly I think Ashley really has a point talking about age gap saying that Mak and her gf are in the same "life phase" or whatever. I know of a lot of couples who only have a 1-2 years age gap, but one person is still in college, the other one started working, or maybe they are on very different paths (one doing a PhD so essentially not "out there in the world" yet, the other one running a business), so the lifestyle, the type of life decisions, the outlook on life, future, money, etc can be very different even if you are of similar ages. If a 19-year-old is in college working part-time and dating a 23-year-old who's in college working part-time, I don't see potential issues here, at least, not because of the age gap.
@lizhyink5636
@lizhyink5636 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. Myelination matters, and that process can continue in a person's brain till 30 years old. Even so, we hopefully don't stop learning and growing beyond that age. I do think perspectives are influenced by experiences more than the most recent birthday number. Without certain overlaps, it wouldn't matter if both people are the exactly the same age, whether both 22, 44, or 66.
@chunli1427
@chunli1427 Жыл бұрын
yeah. people tend to forget that the problem with age gap relationships is the imbalance in the power dynamic, not the age itself. i saw people on tiktok being offended about a 6 year gap between a 26yo and a 32yo (in a comic, nonetheless)... like, they just heard "age gaps are bad" and went with it, didn't think about why they're bad, when they're bad etc. a 19yo with a 23yo could be problematic but if they have similar lifestyles and mindsets then there's literally nothing to criticize.
@conlon4332

"one doing a PhD so essentially not "out there in the world" yet" I... is this suggesting that my Godfather (Max de Gaynesford - he's on Wikipedia!) has never 'entered the real world'? He's a Professor of Philosophy and his work is his whole life. Studying, reading, writing, teaching. His whole adult life has been in University and he's middle aged now. His favourite thing is to read books, especially books on Philosophy. Do you think he hasn't entered the real world yet? If "yet" even applies at this point... honestly, this might make a lot of sense. He certainly doesn't have much time for the people he knows.

in my country we also really really care about the family. if your families are not compatible it can be the WORST. Like people talk about marriage as love or whatever but down the road these things will make or break it. like if one family is super educated or super rich and they look down on yours its horrible. or religious and ones not thats my two sides of the family problem. my mom told me about these super religious ultra rich men that proposed to her but they just werent compatible with her family.

Ashley's "college kids feel so young" is so true. I went to college after working for a few years and I couldn't think of the people going straight in to college there as anything other than kids. I was 23 in class with 18 year olds and the difference was staggering to me, even then.

I have had 10 girlfriends throughout my life, 4 identified themselves as straight, and were relationships that lasted more than 1 year, today they are all married to men and have children, my wife also identified herself as straight, she had already been married to a man and had a 3 year old son when we first met, we've been married for 11 years, my advice is not to stick to labels, if she was flirting with you, something she wants, otherwise she wouldn't flirt, even though she said she was straight. For the record, I am 5 years older than my wife and we never used a strap on

I agree with Mak in terms of straight women. I am straight and there definitely was a period of hooking up with women because it was less scary (speaking of possible rejection) and I felt less vulnerable. Like I’m not proud of it, and I thought of myself as questioning at that time, but in retrospective I see what it was. At least it did not result in hurting anyone’s feelings cause these were one night stands, but still I wouldn’t do that now.

Being with women is definitely WAY more scary/vulnerable to me than being w dumb men lol & I’m queer so what you said actually makes a lot of sense. I still don’t think straight women should involve themselves with other queer women though bc usually the queer person gets hurt or disappointed.

I have misophonia too. A week ago, when I was in my online Chinese class, someone was slurping his water DIRECTLY into the mic. Multiple times. I asked him to stop and also mentioned I had misophonia, but he would not. Another person told him to stop or mute his mic, and then he said, " I can't help it," and slurped one more time before turning his mic off. By then, I felt like my body was tingling, and I was trying my best not to cry. My heart was also beating really fast. I ended up sobbing when my teacher was trying to get me to say a few phrases in Chinese because I suddenly thought about what happened again. When I was trying to explain why I was crying, I ended up just yelling about the slurping and how I hated having misophonia. Then I left the class. Needless to say, everyone was very confused.

I feel like I could see myself making the “I’m straight, fyi” comment. But my intention there would be an attempt to acknowledge that LGBT media isn’t just enjoyed in secret by LGBT people anymore. It’s a topical show, but the entertainment value is universal. I think it’s an attempt to say that your content reaches everyone and is loved by people from all demographic categories. Tl;dr: you’re sharing the lesbian perspective with a non-lesbian audience, too. And we’re appreciating you sharing that and we’re finding value in it.

I think that you are really cute Ashley... and I'm straight. and I'm flirting with you. Seriously, I appriciate what you said about respecting whatever journey straight women are on with their sexuallity. I have been watching Alayna's youtube for the past year, and found both you and mac through her. I remember watching a video where Alayna said that the algorithm knows before you know, and I was like "what does this mean? I'm not attracted to women?" Until I came across you. Maybe it's just your top energy (Ha) but nah, you cute! So yeah, this is the first time that I have actually said the words. You're welcome Cheers from Australia

4:23 40 year olds can go to college too. I'm feeling a trend here, but 5:15 23 year olds can be mothers too.

Call in could be cool, but I feel like so many of the fans would get so overexcited and ramble. I really like the write in questions. It feels more controlled and balanced.

It's helpful to think of flirting as making someone feel better about themselves. Straight men flirt with men ("Hey, dude, that's a sharp outfit.") Same with straight women. "Unattainable flirting" (flirting with someone that you aren't romantically or sexually interested in) can be fun and harmless. If you receive that kind of flirting and aren't interested, take the win and feel good about yourself.

I love this, it's like hanging out with the LGBT friends you wish you had. I feel like if Ashley pulled back 1% and Alayna got that space it would be chef's kiss perfect

I'm totally with Ash on the different age limits for a ONS and for a relation. This however backfired spectaculary for a close friend of mine, who had a summer fling with a 24 year younger girl. 5 years ago I was at their wedding and now they have 2 kids. They invited me for beer and trivia games, and there the age gap really showed, not in any way that matters, she is very intelligen, but it really showed that we had thirty years more of history
