I have lost my oldest friend since 7th October. I got such vitriol from her. No compassion that my family got attacked that day. All I got was how bad Israel is. How the rapes didn't happen. Hamas didn't kill babies. My life long friend is no more. I can't ever forgive her. A fiend of mine ended up by a Palestinian rally in London a couple of weeks back. She had to flee for her safety while the police stood by and treated her like she was stupid. The police stand with the Palestinian supporters and tell the Jews to hide! What is this 1935!

@@StopSettlerViolence two points: it’s not “their people”. Only the tiniest fraction of pro-Palestinian protesters are Palestinian. I certainly don’t begrudge them from advocating but I’m also not talking about them. I’m talking about the huge number of university students/influencers who were rallying and protesting in support of the Voice… who have since dropped it as an issue now it’s not in the news and have suddenly discovered Gaza/ are protesting this issue. That part is not in itself surprising but the extreme levels of antisemitism and intolerance is unnerving for a group without any actual connection to the issue nor any concern for other world conflict. Eg supporting radical Islam / Hamas and justifying violence as resistance. The second issue is one of realism. The Jewish population of Aus is tiny. It’s not a question of voting - those votes were already counted and they weren’t sufficient to override the no vote. I’d be interested how many of the pro-Palestinians/Gaza protesters voted yes… other than the far left contingent, I don’t think it’s as many as you might think..
