Choti Shadi of Kinnaur |Tribal Wedding| Namsha Khupma | Traditional Kinnauri

Weddings of kinnaur plays an important role inpreservation of our tribal culture. There are almostthree types of weddings happens in Kinnaur. Badishadi also known as Tashis in our dialect.Ponbeedho a type of wedding in which groomdoesn't go in Bharat. Demon marriage/ RakshasVivah- in ancient time this kind of marriage wasprevailing in Kinnaur. Without the consents ofbride and her family Groom and his relativeskidnap the bride. Now days this kind of weddingare not happening anymore. If a couple run awaywith each others consent then bride has to keep atthe grooms Mamas place and bring her homeafter seeing proper timings. This wedding is alsoknown as Namsha Khupma in our dialect. This isthe choti shadi of Kinnaur. This kind of weddinghappens only in our Humso valley (kanam,Labrang, Spillow)
Many traditional rituals are done in this weddings.Specific traditional songs for the Groom entry andbrides departure which have a deep meaning andwe really need to preserve our rich culture. In thisvideo I tried to highlight and cover most of therituals of choti shadi.
