Great video. I changed all y fluids today and noticed mine is leaking slowly but making a mess. About 10 ounces over the last 10k miles.

Good Video: thanks! I would not use the impact gun to loosen/tighten the bolt. It's best you count the number of turns you turn to take the bolt off the pinion to keep the preload close to original specs. I'll also add grease to the inner lip of the oil seal. Lastly I would use a small hammer but not a deadblow hammer as it will install the oil seal way too in or could get the seal to sit at an angle.

Is the drive splines to the flange keyed? Looks kinda like it but thought that the driveshafts had to be phased properly otherwise you would get a driveline vibration???
@chowcares4 жыл бұрын
Splines are not keyed

I'm experiencing a low pitched grinding noise from the front end in my 01' HDJ100. Its very low pitched noise sort of vibration and i can feel it in the floorboard. The noise only comes at the speed of 20-30 kmph and intensifies at turns at the given speed. No sound during u turns etc. Only at 20-30 kmph. I even replaced the wheel bearings and the rotors too. But no luck. One of the mechanics told me that its the diff itself which is making noise.

Do you use Toyota OEM parts? Thoughts on OEM vs Aftermarket?
@chowcares4 жыл бұрын
100% oem parts especially where it counts. Things like seals and bearing are critical

Are front and rear pinion seals same? I am asking this cuz on some parts websites it gives the same part number for front and rear seals, some are different.

How can I buy Brake Master for my LC 100?
@chowcares4 жыл бұрын
brake master for the LC is $$$ because it has a built in abs unit and booster. if the abs unit is working, i suggest getting the master rebuilt kit: www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~cylinder~kit~brake~master~04493-60330.html

I haven’t serviced the diff fluid, but it looked milky in the video, is that common?
@zachc.19782 жыл бұрын
In his other video where he replaces his cv axle, he states he was driving in deep water "swimming", and since the cv boot was torn, water got inside the front diff and mixed with the diff oil to make that milky color.
