Chris was the reason why I love Lamb of God and he became my hero next to the late great Joey Jordison

Chris Adler is the drummer who made me realize i wanted to be a drummer. I love his style. Definitely one of the best doing it along with Mario from Gojira.
@thebeastofdoom13 жыл бұрын
Chris adler is the perfect example of a totally well rounded metal drummer. He is not only very fast, aggressive, and well rehearsed and technical, but also very creative and interesting. He is also extremely tasty and never over plays and tries to take over the song; his spurts of technical brilliance come when appropriate and boy when they come, he frikkin KILLS it!

It's mind blowing. He's left handed playing a right handed kit, which I believe is the reason for his very unique and extremely complicated drum fills. Plus, he only started playing drums at like 20 or 21 years old and I don't think he ever had any lessons. Dude's a beast.

Chris Adlers blasts are how I feel the technique should be used. He does not over do it and when he does put it in the song it serves the song rather than blasting away on 98% of every song. For me what makes him such a great drummer is he does not focus on speed. I have no problem playing at very fast speeds but to slow it down like Chris does is something I am working on and believe me it can be tricky. Laid to Rest intro is a good example of wtf lol

@piggybank777 The second hat is more closed than the other hat for a different sound and a different place, notice how he uses his right hand on the hats all the time though? Just because he signs things with his left doesnt mean anything. My cousin writes with his left and does everything else with his right. At 0:20 he doesnt even play the hats. o.o

Anybody else notice he starts bass patterns with his right foot and most hand patterns with his left hand? I swear, if there was some survey asking if he was right or left handed, he'd have to check the "both" box.

@uberjosh2323 its easy..Here : Crash(R), 3 x Snare(R,L,R), Splash(L), Splash/Ride(R), 2 x Snare (L,R), Splash (L), 2 x Snare (R,L), Splash/Ride (R), Snare (L) ..and thats it! =) for the other "similar" fill, just replace the splashes with toms..in the studio version he does it different..he does the following : The first fill in that section is just that one but with toms instead and the second fill is the one i have explained just there followed by : 4 x snare and then toms =) Hope this helps:)

@3triska3 nice cover of reclamation dude. I have trouble with that fill as well. I know it's something to do with swiss triplets, but I just can't get it to work. Is it flam: R Rl R L R L, or double: R Ll R L R L....or is it a quick single stroke triplet: R rlr L R L? I know it's possibly all 3 depending on personal preference but I just can't get it to stick

@Jugganaut5826 look man moral of thsi is chris has superb skillz he gets payed to do it and alot of metal drummer extreme metal heavy all types look to him he is reinvinting the wheel and he proves that it it doesnt have to be 250bpms to be entertaining which most true metal heads hate cause it sounds like garbage....speed it good we all love speed but its not the most important in drumming not by a long shot its knowing what goes where and when to make a great song and chris does that
