I met Chris in Lomita while he was covering a story. I was watching the news and learned that he was not to far from where I lived. I found him sitting in his car, walked up to his window and called him out. He quickly opened his car door and stepped out to greet me. I told him who I was and asked him to do a segment on Burrous Bites about the Pacific Dinner who serves an amazing breakfast and Busy Bee Market who makes the best sandwiches I've ever tasted. After doing so he asked if I would take a selfie with him while holding up our hands in support for channel 5 news. We did and I loved it. Great Guy. Here's to you Chris, a loving, caring, charming and real person. May God bless your soul and may you rest in peace. High 5.

What’s really even more sad is the way Chris Burrous lived his life behind closed doors being a drug addict. The cause of his death made a huge embarrassment on his family. Chris had a great education, a great career in news broadcasting wearing a suit and tie everyday and he was very good looking, his co-workers and friends all seem to love him and respect him as well. He had high blood pressure that also contributed to his death. It’s such a terrible shame.

Wrong, Super! You won't find anyone criticizing this fellow for getting high and killing himself... That's because drugs are accepted in today's society... Drugs are cool! Now if he'd died from lung cancer caused by smoking "two packs a day", people would be screaming about the evils of tobacco.. But heroin or meth or coke? Not a problem!
@robinflatt55355 жыл бұрын
Leon Allan Davis, Super's comment didn't sound like a criticism, it sounded more like a plea, or a cry of pain. No one wants those who are so important to our lives to end up in this tragic circumstance, especially if avoidable. I can understand his pain, because it's mine, also. My heart goes out to his family and co-workers, and to all who've had their lives made just a bit brighter because of him. He had something special, and I doubt that anyone will ever be able to take his place, let alone make that place somewhere that everyone wanted to be with him in. Rest in Peace, Chris

@@robinflatt5535 It was probably an inartful expression on my part...ill-phrased... What I meant to say is that any attempt to warn people off drugs is futile simply because society at large doesn't see dope as a bad thing... Why? I have no idea... Look at all the national campaigns for and against stuff... Food safety.. Automotive safety.... Anti-alcohol... Anti tobacco Anti-gun... Anti-terrorism... Anti-religion... Anti drunk driving... But there is NO national anti-drug movement.... In fact, it's quite the opposite...popular celebrities use dope and become even more popular... So when Super tells folks to stop using drugs, he's flying in the face of popular opinion... Drugs - legal and illegal - are cool... I've lost friends to dope...including a wife who I loved very deeply... At least China is doing the right thing by executing every dope dealer they get their hands on... Two in the hat.. I would have shot my wife's dope dealer if I could have found him....believe me...I tried...

Leon Allan Davis wow, that's hard. I'm sorry if I sounded harsh or critical; I've lost several people dear to me to the monkey and I guess I don't want to admit that I might have missed the warning signs once again. I honestly don't know what to say that might not sound patronizing in response to your own bad experience, but I genuinely wish you all the best that life has to offer as you go forward through the rest of your days.

I'm very curious to find out all of the details of this investigation as they are made public. There are a lot of questions that people want to know, such as: Why was Chris in a motel room to begin with? Who was the man with Chris? What was their relationship? Do investigators believe this was an isolated incident or was Chris living a secret life? Chris was very witty & I enjoyed his KTLA weekend shows, but he seemingly threw everything away based on some very poor life decision's. Damn shame, RIP Chris.

Maybe the family wants to keep the details private. He had a young daughter and a wife to consider. Just because somebody is on TV does not give people the right to violate their privacy.

This comes as quite a shock, for a beloved TV news anchor that was so full of life to leave this world so suddenly, and at such a young age of 43, and leaves behind friends and family, co-workers, and countless fans. Burrous had the opportunity to work in 2 of the largest TV markets in the country, and may have even had offers for the networks and newsmagazine shows. May he rest in peace.

Life is too short. Such a talented news broadcaster... people keep saying awful things about him “ like why was he in a hotel and with a guy?” That’s so disrespectful, for one the man is dead, let him be. For two, it’s none of your business, and for three he was a business man, and professional people stay in hotels all the time, and just because he was with another person does not mean In was indecent, what a bunch of strange people saying gross things. This man has a family, you really want his daughter to read all the disgusting things your writing about her father. People are mean. You will be missed, Chris.
