I love how this fades into the original menu theme whenever you're about to start a game. It mirrors the alt. version of Risk of Rain 2 as it's used in that game, but while also referencing the original game Returns is pulling from. The effort you put into making your music work like that is why I love it so much.

Really love that this incorporates a couple elements of Risk 2, the really harsh guitar from songs like Hydrophobia or indeed con lentitud poderosa. It all feels so full circle.

One of the few games where I didn't rush to get to the audio settings and turn down the volume of what is usually god awful ear-piercing menu music upon first launch. Thank you for putting so much heart and passion into the music you make, Chris! Your art objectively improves an already great game. (Goes for Risk of Rain 2 as well, of course)

I don't know why, but even though i never played risk of rain 1, risk of rain returns has completely shaken up my favourite games of all times list. ROR2 is 3rd on that list. If i were to have a list of soundtracks, it would probably be: Anything Chris (deadbolt, ror1, ror2...) Terraria Calamity Mod (DM DOKURO moment) Orb of creation (No idea why this is so high, it just slaps for no reason) Undertale Gosh darn it, thank you Chris!!!!!

As unintelligent as it sounds, this really does feel like there's a risk of rain, or rather a disastrously violent storm. The clouds that hang overhead either make for a uniquely calming atmosphere, or a foreboding prelude to a very unpleasant downpour. Infact listening with headphones I think you can very well hear rain pour at the very start of the song and a few other quiet parts in between and at the end. It's almost unsettling how good this song is at being a soothing title screen theme and a warning for the completely scarring chaos your character will undergo
