He needs to listen to black hole Sun. I like audio slave but they're on different levels with Sound garden so far Genuin vocals . Chris Cornell rest in peace and man was he not a gift the left this world Way too soon. Makes me sad to hear this again. Makes me think of Prince rest in peace and Chris Cornell rest in peace and all these other artist that have died too young. If this song rights year doesn't pull someone's heart and put a lump in or through at least once all I can say is you might wanna see a Psychiatrist Because you're probably a narcissist. Thanks

Cornell and Staley were the best vocalists imo. Kurt was just a strait artist and brilliant. Vedder did have his moments though. His Unplugged version of black is ridiculously good. But Cornell was on another level with his vocals. Top 3 of all time imo. They're all brilliant anyway. The 90s will never be again

Chris Cornell suffered from anxiety/depression, he was also a recovering drug addict. He committed suicide in the summer of 2017. He had a deep respect for Prince as a singer/songwriter. He has been around in several bands Autouslave, Soundgarden, & Temple of the Dog. He was also best friends with Chester Bennington of Linkin Park who also suffered from anxiety/depression & committed suicide shortly after Chris in 2017.

One of the best covers of a song ever, and still after listening to this song for probably more than a 100 times, I still get goose bumps & tear up :( This man had the type of voice that could look into your eyes, and touch the deepest parts of your soul.......one of a kind singer that will be forever missed :( RIP Great One, and thanks for sharing your gift with us before you had to leave......

Chris Cornell was a rock god. He is sorely missed. Saw him several times in concert. SO happy to have seen him with Soundgarden, Audioslave and solo, before his passing. He took his own life 2 years ago. I listen to him everyday, (have for over 30 years). Just have to hear that golden voice.

Id say Chris committing suicide sent Chester over the edge. So as crazy as that seems at first, when you look into it, its not. Chester was probably holding on by a thread. Chris killing himself probably made chester not only feel he lost one of the few friends that understood it , but made him feel that if Chris couldn't make it, then how will I. He looked up to Chris big time. I will say this, and I've dealt with severe depression in my life. And it never leaves fully. So don't jump on me. Chester knew better. After seeing what Chris death did to his children, and to himself, Chester father of like 6 kids should have checked himself in somewhere immediately. In fact he should have never been singing hallelujah at his funeral. He should have immediately looked for help. He had too many children, and jist saw what Chris death did

Chris re-made this Prince song in honor of Prince shortly after Prince died and it's so sad that 1 year later Chris died. Ironic and erie now to hear a dead man singing a dead man's song. I am from Minnesota and grew up loving and feeling full of pride for Prince, one of the greatest musicians of all time. And Chris was a phenomenal singer also. RIP to the both of them!

Most importantly, he passed away. But he began in the grunge scene in Seattle in the 80's, and when Soundgarden exploded on the scene in 93 with their second album Badmotorfinger, he just skyrocketed.

One of the mot amazing singers ever. He was holding back there. He could really belt it out when he wanted to. He was the lead singer of Soundgarden (check "Black Hole Sun" or "Fell on Black Days") and also, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave. He also sang the theme for the James Bond reboot "Casino Royale" - "You Know My Name". Thanks. Peace from SF

Chris took his own life 2 years ago. He showed up as the frontman and guitarist for Soundgarden in the early 90's as part of the Grunge sound from Seattle (Soundgarden was more metal than Nirvana which was closer to punk). After Soundgarden took a break, he joined up with Rage Against The Machine and they became Audioslave. Soundgarden songs to check, Spoonman, Outshined, Rusty Cage (which Johnny Cash covered), Audioslave songs, Cochise, I Am The Highway, Like a Stone. In the early Soundgarden days, Chris' friend and roommate Andrew Wood died. Chris and Matt from Soundgarden, and Eddie, Jeff, and Stone from Pearl Jam did an album in tribute to him as Temple of the Dog. If you want to check them out, Hunger Strike and Say Hello 2 Heaven (Heaven's a tough song to hear when you think about Chris' fate).

Ron Smith I grew up with her version and always found hers to be the best. Chris has incredible vocals but there’s something special about Sinead’s performance. So much sadness and passion in her voice as if she’s holding her broken heart in her hands. The tears rolling down her once beautiful face. I had such a crush on her as a kid but now she’s flown over the cuckoo’s nest. She did leave us with a great song and awesome video though. I know Prince wrote the song but it’ll always be Sinead’s to me.

Three things. First, while this song was written by Prince, it was made famous by Sinead O'Conner (pronounced Shin-ade). Second, Chris Cornell would be RDJ's brother. Their ages are too close together for anything else. Third, his voice is actually really close to Robert Downey Jr's. There are multiple videos on KZbin with him singing. I would love to see you check one of them out. And other actors you should listen to include Jeremy Jordan (Supergirl), John Barrowman (Dr Who & Arrow) amd Jesse L Martin (Flash & Law and Order).

Chris committed suicide. Causing Chester Benningtons suicide, they were best friends (Linkin Park) (most likely a HUGE trigger to the suicide).. depression is NO JOKE. Money or not. Depression is depression... I will never forget the day Chris died. Legend and Top 10 voices ever.
