It's not that Chris doesn't like the guy's singing, it's that there's always been so much mimicry of the Seattle singers like Eddie, Kurt, and Layne that the subject gets tired. You don't get Chris on the show and ask him about a viral video where someone is singing like Ed. It's stupid and quite disrespectful to a musician of that caliber. Chris has always been about his business. He was put on the spot and him removing his headphones was more of a statement to the dj's, not the vedder impersonator.

He said that cuz the majority of participants didn't speak english in that contest, so don't do a drama about that, it's wrong to talk about all people like a package but, I don't think that he's saying that Chileans don't deserve to talk his language...
@jazztification10 жыл бұрын
RocKOnPE The majority of Chileans (I include myself) don't speak English or another language WITHOUT an accent, which is different to ''don't speak english'', and furthermore, I think it's something very natural, or can North Americans speak German or French without giving it a gringo (North American) accent from beginning to end? I would be really surprised. Would Germans and/or French people laugh at your accent in Germany or France? I don't think so, because they are also intelligent and know very well that no-one is born a 'knowitall'. A second, third, fourth or more languages will never ever be the same as your (everyone's) own, unless you start using them all when you are a toddler, else, forget about a perfect grammar and flawless accent. But, so what??? The main thing is for us all to be able to understand each other, errors or not (what I think, anyway). You have other foreigners in the States. Do you people complain all the time at their accent also? Do you ever even try to learn anything outside your frontiers? Hmmm... I wonder. BTW, five Chilean students were shot in 2009 by Dannie Baker in the Florida State and except for a couple of short notes in pages no-one knows on the web (just do a search, ''Dannie Baker - Florida - Chilean students'' and you will see what I mean), it was a MAJOR USA SECRET! Deplorable! Pitiful! Utterly disgusting! Do you people keep more secrets of that calibre??? Literally, I really feel like vomiting when I remember that. Some government, huh? Freedom of the press and general media??? Your freedom has a very enigmatic way of showing itself, for sure, specially in cases like that one. One good thing, Dannie Baker (who had the appearance of a werewolf) got 5 lifetimes in prison (yey!). We most certainly don't have massive killers like the kind of brave macho cowboys you have there. I know, I know. I was totally out of subject then, but couldn't help it. Chile has received tons of Spanish people, that is, from Spain, because there are nearly 6 million of unemployed citizens over there and it is impossible for them to find decent jobs (or any job at all). The south of Chile is populated by Irish, Germans, Belgians and Yugoslavians. Chilean Patagonia, by British, Irish and Scottish. Central Chile, by Japanese, Koreans and also Italians and other European and Middle East countries (Arabs all along), Chinese in the north, etc., etc., but nobody laughs at the way they speak Spanish. Why? Well, I'm pretty sure it's because we have more than just one neuron. Maybe a wider mind and see things from another prospect. But... like Jackie Chan, perfectly capable of defending ourselves. Take care.
@RocKOnPE10 жыл бұрын
Bro, just chill. I never talked about discrimination or all the things you wrote. I just want to leave clear that for me he wasn't talking bad about chileans or their accent, I'm sure that you would find really funny a "Gringo" trying to sing in spanish (and I don't mean mocking about him... which in the case of the video never happened). Your right about everything else, but as I said, I don't think that every single states citizen is like the ones you just described, so maybe go somewhere and get to know some good "gringos".... maybe they can change your well known and informed opinion of people around the world. btw I'm not from US, but I live here and I know people that are really really good persons, as I know others that are not. So don't judge everyone as the same my bro. Take care.
@TheChichola10 жыл бұрын
Nicole Mariê Partarrieu Canto You're right in your last comment, I agree 100%, but I also think you over reacted about the comment regarding to contestants. I've watched different Latinamerican shows of that same format and the truth is most of those who sing or immitate some English language singer can't actually speak English so they have to do it phonetically. On the other hand, I so agree about ignorance of American people and their total lack of interest in what's going on outside their borders. I lived in California, so for them, everything south from the border is Mexico and those people we speak "mexican". It's not really important to speak another language cause English is the one and only language to speak and USA is the center of the universe
